I had better seafood in Greece than anywhere else in Europe. Fresh grilled octopus with a squeeze of lemon, fried sardines, squid salad, everything just perfect. (Note: I haven't done Nordic countries, and they might do cod/coldwater-fish/etc. better, but that's be a different style.)
This is the way.
You start frying an onion and then figure out what you're making for dinner.
Tell people 2025 would do this. No federal weather means local counties would have to pay Big Business for tornado/hurricane warnings. We'd pay more for fish because fishermen can't get data unless they pay. Plane schedules become even less reliable AND cost more because the government stops tracking upper level wind speeds.
Look: we want people who get a salary for doing accurate work rather than people who get paid to say whatever the bossman want to hear. Ask people to imagine how it would work if Google, NBC, Amazon, and Fox each sunk the money for trying to replicate the existing infrastructure and then sold pieces of it to paying customers -- such as Allstate, CBS, and Delta Airlines. Everyone else would have to HOPE they were getting complete data and have to wonder what was missing. Noticing record highs and lows would become proprietary and forbidden from broadcast in a way akin to being disallowed from referencing "The Superbowl" unless you pay for a license. How's any of that going to make things better?

The agency is home to one of the most significant repositories of climate data on Earth, which includes information on shifting atmospheric conditions and the health of coastal fisheries, plus hundreds of thousands of years’ worth of ice-core and tree-ring data.
Eliminating or privatizing climate information won’t eliminate the effects of climate change. It will only make them more deadly.

My understanding is the thing you most need is community. No one is likely to make it on their own, but if you can band together, your chances increase.
I'll bet you an upvote that there's several bunkers damn close to you. All you need to do is figure out who'll let you use one.
I can't predict how a split in the timeline would resolve on paths where Biden is and is not replaced as the Democratic candidate, but I do worry that Trump will win if things don't change. If I KNEW that Biden or Kamala Harris (or someone else) could beat Trump, I would back whichever I knew had a chance. In my family, one is sure the only chance Democrats have is to stick with Joe and another that they must Ditch Joe for a new voice with a new message to attract new voters.
I don't know. I can't argue about it because I don't have any data for either case. I care, but my concerns have no where to go, so instead my current conflict is over how amazing the pro-Union speech was ... at the RNC.

While I too am horrified by how the Palestinians have been forgotten, abused, and annihilated, this is Bibi's thing. Bibi's been stoking his base on that fire forever. It is not Biden's fault that he happened to be in office while this latest round took place, but Biden has been more compassionate towards Palestinians than ... well let's just say more than several other leaders I could name.
Hey Mega, I'm entering this debate late, so I'm not sure why any vote on any side would be expected to support someone 100%. I can't think of anyone I've ever supported 100%. Is that a requirement somewhere?
Any yes, for a bunch of people -- but not all -- not voting (D) for President (and just about every other race) is a help to Trump. The most obvious and dire case is people in swing states. It matters less for solid blue and red states, but it would be helpful to show a strong and active rejection of Trump given that he and his people have already announced they will be contesting the results. If you are not a U.S. citizen, or otherwise ineligible to vote in the U.S., then congratulations, it doesn't matter if you don't vote for Biden.

They already did! The 'presidential immunity' ruling they recently made basically said that if a President does it, we (SCOTUS) will decide if it is an official act, and if it is, then the Prez is blameless, but if we say the act isn't 'official' then WE will tell you the Prez is a baddie.
Jack Smith can appeal the decision now, and probably demand it be reassigned -- but yeah, Trump lawyers will appeal will try to get it to Alito et al. There won't be a trial this year, regardless, and if Trump is re-elected this and the other federal case will magically disappear.
I was going to suggest this first blog post to give you an idea about some basic types, but it linked to the second blog and I thought you might like that, too. Mostly, they give you an idea of the terms and language used to describe keyboard stuff. There are other sources, sure, but the first blog post seemed like a fair write-up for a beginner, so I stuck with hiros even though their main goal is selling products (but hey, they are kinda cool artsy products).
-- but doing it in the first place is a symptom of fascism and other repressive systems. It's the sort of crap that ruins anything where data is important... tho musicians screening who's gonna join their band might be alright.
