I can't see a case for pirating to be ethical in the case where you create the story/paint the picture/write the song/build the machine, and then Disney/Time Warner/Sony/Amazon pirates it and sells it for profit while you get nothing.
Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Marco Rubio, Eric Schmitt, Kyrsten Sinema, Tom Cotton, and of course only a year older than Cruz we have: Raphael Warnock, John Fetterman and Cory Booker.
I think kids know more about superheroes than these people know about their constituents. I mean, I guess they know the 'potential-voter' chunk of their constituents will favor ... low wages, I guess? But I don't know how Pence could make it past the primaries when he answers the question of 'how would you protect LGBTQ citizens' with the (paraphrased) answer, 'I'd ban trans surgeries'.
Brazil (1985) by Terry Gilliam. It is dark, wry, and painfully honest. Make sure you watch the version with the intended ending instead of the version the studio tried to release.
Fox news started in 1996. Before that, such drek was limited to tabloids and AM radio. To be clear, Rush Limbaugh started HIS show in 1984, and he just the most refined version of right wing hate to date -- there were more before him. The strange thing to me is how by putting it all on TV, Fox got the general public move from largely ignoring lie-filled vitriol to embracing it as truth.
I'm late to this discussion, but you might want to invest in a separate pan for eggs and fish. Here are two Wirecutter pages on pans -- one non-stick (with lengthy discussion on non-stick surfaces) and one on the best pan (which is NOT non-stick, but also not what you want). Archived links so you don't have to worry about paywalls, I hope : Best Skillet | Best Non-stick
tl;dr: Use an absolutely flat bottom with flared sides and good balance. 10-inches is perfect for omelettes, but use a bigger pan for multi-person meals. Beyond that, "Nonstick pans are best for cooking things like eggs or delicate fish fillets, but they’re not appropriate for high-heat jobs. The slick surface also can’t develop the fond (tasty brown bits that develop on the bottom of a pan) that’s integral for sauces."
I agree that anyone should be able to wear any style of clothing, but I must admit that clothing typically needs different measurements for men versus women (hips, chest, shoulders). T-shirts and sweat pants are pretty neutral, but a busty bosom won't fit in a men's button down shirt and a little black dress will have too-tight shoulders on many men. There's a fair amount of women's-cut clothing that looks like men's-style, but the reverse is sadly lacking.
TLDR: Owners forced this on the site without input from editors/writers.
“As you may have seen today, an AI-generated article appeared on io9,” James Whitbrook, deputy editor at io9 and Gizmodo, tweeted about the situation. “I was informed approximately 10 minutes beforehand, and no one at io9 played a part in its editing or publication.”
Whitbrook really tore into them after that, calling it "embarrassing, unpublishable" and generally being pissed.
G/O Media’s sites include Gizmodo, The Onion, The A.V. Club, Jezebel and Deadspin.
Let that last line be a warning to view any future content on those sites with extra suspicion. We expect intentionally incorrect satire on the Onion, but the rest? No thank you.
I didn't see 'cancel your subscriptions' listed, but upon reading this, I think that is where I am headed. I'm cancelling HBO for sure. They've stopped offering any content worth watching since their new head took over -- except there was still John Oliver until the strike started, but now there's nothing. I don't have Disney or Paramount but I guess I better get rid of Netflix until the strike is over, too.
I am not an expert. I'm surely missing other possibilities. I expect it will look good on the inside, and if so, I would eat it, but I am not known for my food safety in matters like this.
I need a thread for what I cooked last week because half of what I make depends on what is on sale/mark-down when I go shopping. For example: last week, pre-made macaroni salad was marked-down for quick sale to $3 for 2 pounds. I don't like how sharp/acidic and runny the pre-made is, but it has a pretty good flavor, so I bought that, cooked up another 8 ounces of elbows and added them in with lots of celery and some sour cream. That worked as a side and snack for the rest of the week.
I also made: hummus from dried beans (which gets eaten with bread, olives and jarred peppers), multiple salads, veggie tacos, and Sesame noodles with julienned carrots, cukes, red bell peppers, and cilantro (I didn't have green onions on hand). We also ate sandwiches and snacked on cheese & crackers with fruit (cherries, mostly).
For the two of us, I like the side-by-side layout (interior pic), but I am aware that it is not as energy efficient as freezer-on-the-bottom styles.
We like having ice & water on the the outside so we don't have to open it up to make cold drinks.
We also use about 3 gallons of milk a week, so two gallons of them go in the door. The bins on the bottom mostly hold cheese in one and cold-hearty produce like carrots, celery, and apples in the other. P.S. I don't have this particular refrigerator make/model, but it is close enough.
I am going to play devil's advocate here for the sake of discussion on if it matters what consenting adults do in public.
Let's say we have two moms going to the local library. One is very conservative and the other very liberal, but both are busy-body 'Karens'. They see flyers for 2 events: one is kids story time with a drag performer, and the other is a 'jack-ass' style competition in the park in front of the library -- promoted with pictures of people (constentingly) getting kicked in the groin. Both Karens are shocked that their kids would be exposed to such outrageous behavior and do not want the kids copying such behavior -- but each only object to ONE of those events.
Both are going to complain to their city council and try to get their peeve banned. Do either of them have a point? Would it matter if it wasn't an 'event' and just people going about their daily lives (kids smacking each other around or dressing up for fun)?
My instinct is to say that it should all be allowed, but I can imagine some argument about the deterioration of society or some such.
