Why? Because it got personal. Trump can verbally shit his policies all over the place but once he started talking about annexing (invading) Canada then the citizenry took notice. This is not a boycott hand in hand with the government of Canada. This is a boycott by the people at a grassroots level and it needed no organizing whatsoever.
Fair enough I guess. Not once have I ever heard "Canada, be prepared for a bright future!". Even way back when things were more stable (stability is a relative term, I know). Survival prep means shopping after all.

I hope this would split the vote among magas and republicans and the dems would be a shoe in. Sadly, I've lost a lot of faith in the dems and their ability to effectively fight for the people. Maybe we need even more parties?
