Pretty much. The parties have vacancy committees. So if Trump got convicted and can't serve, the vacancy committee will pick his replacement. Probably his running mate, or the second-place candidate.
I imagine if TFG was dumb enough to try to jump bail (yeah, he very well might be that dumb), the judge would simply phone the Secret Service. They're law enforcement so even if they won't arrest him themselves, when the sheriff or federal marshals call, they'll simply arrange a protection detail around Trump and the deputies and keep Trump very safe as he's arrested and hauled into custody.
I'll admit, it's an improvement over previous methods, though that's not saying much. Everything's normal, breathing fine, until lights out!
My objection to the death penalty is that sooner or later, it's inevitable, the law will fuck it up and execute innocent people. Some people just can't do adulting around this. Sooner or later, a crime happens, people clamor for blood, the state rounds up the wrong guy and railroads him.
IIRC the hypoxia "high" panic reaction is from an elevated level of CO2 - that's the evolved mechanism by which humans detect they're in a bad place for breathing. Not absence of O2.
Edit: Correction: Hypoxia alone gets you high just before you keel over. It's the CO2 buildup that activates your body's panic reactions.
Camera angle... The camera looks like it's set up high, so arrestees have to tilt their heads up when getting their mugshots. Tends to give people a Kubrick Stare.
I was about to say - being a supermax, there is no interaction with other prisoners, so that makes the Secret Service's job easier.
Most likely though, I'm thinking the Dept. of Corrections may end up building a dedicated facility just for Trump. A prison with one prisoner sort of like Spandau Prison in Germany.
