  • There'll almost certainly be new/expanded and altered dialogue.

I'm intrigued to see whether they'll try to rework any of the more 'problematic' stuff, now that Katsura Hashino (P3–P5 director) has left. Or go for a truer-to-the-Japanese-version Teddy this time.

  • I hope teachers come up with crazy workarounds, like Miss Honey's classroom in Matilda

  • Busuu is like what Duolingo used to be, but with native audio/video clips, actual grammar lessons, and the chance to write/speak sentences and have them graded by native speakers (other app users).

It's free with ads, but the paid tier is also cheaper than Duolingo. 👍

  • I don't know if it can (or should) be done without the negative aspects. The internet is really dangerous.

Children can be introduced to baking in a playful way, but still need to be taught how to do it safely. You wouldn't try to do it without mentioning that the oven is hot, or that they shouldn't play with knives.

  • The media seems so confused, when it's so simple. People are being disappeared.

One of the cases – was it Mahmoud Khalil? – where they took issue with someone wearing a hoodie and disappeared them, I saw news sites saying, "This just isn't how we do things in this country! He deserves due process and a fair trial!"

So… you think putting someone on trial for wearing a hoodie is any less insane? Feels like you've sort of missed the point, BUT OKAY 👍

  • Very pleased, but very worried this is another weapon in Farage's bum-bag of horrors.

It's not like "the elites have undone Brexit!" has to be true to be effective. It just has to activate the braindead "i just want are sovrinty back" subset of voters who fucked us all over in the first place. 😬

  • Rat is short for Ratthew

  • Nice! I wish we had more unusual phones like all the crazy dumb-phone designs in the 2000s. I always wanted an LG Wing for exactly this reason.

  • A good retail one: don't say "sorry for your wait." Say "thank you for waiting" or "thank you for being so patient".

Something to do with... it makes people feel good about themselves if they think they've done something for you, which in turn makes them more likely to keep being patient.

  • We didn't even need him for The Apprentice! I remember reading one of Burnett's biggest regrets is not being around to put his spin/style on our version of the show. As if it would've been nearly as successful. 😬

  • Does it turn on? If it can record videos, it's a 3GS.

  • I'm amazed it's taken so long... I think I'm on my third Android phone since they first announced it and I said "fuck no".

  • Maybe it's ads. Maybe it's subscription fees.

It's subscription fees. They've already announced it. It's literally on their blog, and they've talked about it in their Twitch (they didn't do a VoD so here's a link to a YouTube video) and Reddit Q&As.

"In addition, we will begin developing a subscription model for features like higher quality video uploads or profile customizations like colors and avatar frames. Bluesky will always be free to use — we believe that information and conversation should be easily accessible, not locked down. We won’t uprank accounts simply because they’re subscribing to a paid tier."

Maybe they just end up selling all your data off to their 1,000+ data broker partners.

I don't really see how they could, seeing as pretty much everything (including Likes) is already public.

  • Is it because all the AI editing tools mean your "photos" don't necessarily correlate with your "memories" any more? 😅

  • Yeah, I'm afraid that was a scam, not Samsung.

Samsung's policy updates will in open a full-screen, white view in the same style as the rest of their OS (similar to the visual appearance of the Galaxy Store settings), just so you can keep that in mind for next time. ✌️

  • I love my Grip case. Love being able to occasionally reskin it to get a "new" case.

Their subreddit gives the impression their build quality is shit, but I've noticed a lot of people with problems saying "I've only taken the case off a handful of times" or "I usually swap cases every few weeks, but I noticed..."

Like, surely just put the case on the phone until it wears out? For protection? Rather than prising it off and being surprised when it loses its strength? I dunno, each to their own I guess. 😅
