  • Is that the power of iMessage in the US? Peer pressure?

I personally can't stand iPhones because their back navigation is so inconsistent across apps. In Android with gestures on, you can swipe from either side of the screen to go back nearly anywhere. On an iPhone sometimes there is a back button up top, sometimes you use the left swipe, but the right swipe still doesn't work last I tried. I switched between the platform in the early days, but since the 5s I've not been back.

The only thing I'm definitely getting on my next phone is a flag ship chip. My OnePlus Nord is perfect for me except it's not quite as quick as I want it to be (to render Gran Turismo 4 in native resolution at stable framerate).

  • I used to work for a company that has offices in a strictly Islamic country. I had to install something on one of those HP mini servers and found a very interesting search history. No cp fortunately, as far as I could tell. I cleared it and told my boss, but since we were going to get rid of these office servers and moving everything to the cloud I don't think anything ever came of it.

Imagine watching porn on the company server.

Anyway that night I had dinner at the house of the manager in whose office the server was installed. It was a very traditional dinner where the women served the men and stayed in the kitchen otherwise. Strange experience altogether.

  • I pay €32.5 for gigabit, but honestly it's overkill for most people. I only got it because a competitor of my ISP was doing a promotion which got me from a 50 mbit (60-70 in practise) at around the same price to a gigabit for a year.

I honestly only used it to its full potential downloading a tv show because a certain streaming provider who pulled the plug on family sharing decided my house isn't my house and I couldn't watch the shows I paid to watch.
