I think of this as like reddit ptsd. People on lemmy have generally been unexpectedly level headed when disagreeing on things.

I use an 11 Macbook air as my casual device and I love it. It's also pre-glass screens so I've dropped it a few times (from a 1-2') and it hasn't shattered. It's using this device which has had me rethink my computer situation.

I had not given my brain the space to imagine that Trump would be the choice of dictator. I guess there would never be a 'good' dictator candidate but damn that would be insane.

Playing Last of us 2 while I'm in the middle game of covid.

I'm replaying it right now on Survivor. Great game but so grim. I can't do long play sessions because I find it too taxing. It's extremely polished so you can play it at any difficulty level and it works well.

couple options include taking profits gained through AI/automation that have historically gone to shareholders. The other is VAT tax targeting the wealthy. We don't need UBI for everyone all at once, so funding would be incremental. I don't think it's the largest challenge to UBI, the main one being people who oppose it for any number of reasons.

I don't think either of us should try to assume an advanced knowledge of economics. We don't know what will happen to the cycle, but the idea of UBI wouldn't be proposed at all unless that were also a consideration already answered.
