I don't think any of us should be making assumptions about how many birds/bats are being killed without looking up the numbers. At least back when I was in school and learning about windmills (a decade ago) there were concerns because wind farms were often located along migratory pathways for birds. And it's not just 'birds' that die, it can be an important species within the trophic level that gets decimated, and then there are consequences of that felt within the food web. It's not as bad as a city, but we're talking about introducing something new into the environment, and people should talk about the potential issues. We should be able to have both sides arguments about this stuff, since we're still likely to agree it's the right choice to replace carbon plants.
If you were an ecologist it wouldn't be so easy to claim others are ignorant when they bring up concerns about renewable energy harming the natural spaces they are introduced into.
They are being blocked at the border. The Taliban won't let them leave. The ones who got out and participated in interviews (ie the ones we hear about) talk about how their families back home are being harassed, hiding.

As much as I'm looking forward to it we need a unanimous jury to convict him and those seems like very slim odds. It might all come down to the voters. If Trump is re-elected he may face zero consequences.
Thinking back on episode one it seems like there is a lot more action and plot movement.
Focusing on Aneesha's family for the opener was a weird choice. And Mitsuki's character felt like it has been elevated and that whole process felt rushed. She was not a main character before, important, interesting, but not a show leader. Instead we open with her charging at danger with a molotov. Just weird all around for me.
I was disappointed. I watched Last of Us and that was a good antidote. Solid show. Maybe I'll try season 1 again.
I'd say that's part of the reason I still go back to reddit. It's so easy to pull up any community and be signed in. With lemmy it's a hassle.
The instance I'm on (eg smaller ones) doesn't defederate. I see everything. lemmy.ml, beehaw, lemmynsfw. .world isn't a great instance to home account on. They've already blocked like 30 instances https://lemmy.world/instances
I don't think many people are pro-corruption so that's fair, but Trump is insane. He isn't pursuing justice he wants revenge.
