  • That's valid. I was thinking more about the nuisances on Tik Tok who peddle straight-up health disinformation.

  • That's pretty interesting. This could be the basis of a new weight-loss drug that works by limiting calorie absorption rather than regulating hunger cues.

I'm going to be mildly annoyed if the fat acceptance latches on to this as yet another study validating their belief that they can't lose weight.

  • They really messed up when the whole squad got together for that photo op. That's a powerful image.

  • The bar is pretty low, but yeah. At least Google provides a pretty good email service. I can't have the same confidence in a Musk product.

  • Let me remind you that this will be under the same guy who made his employees yank out server machines and transport them in an unprofessional and insecure manner. Your data would be unsafe with him in more than one way.

  • This is bait but I'll get on my little soapbox. This social media tribalism is weird. Just use whatever websites suit your needs. You can even use more than one!

  • Things rich people do to cope with hardship:

    • Prayer
    • Fasting
    • Earning more money in a year than you'll make in your entire lifetime
  • I gave the first Armored Core a try and played a few missions. The movement is rather clunky coming straight from the buttery smooth Armored Core 6. However, the other systems seem pretty robust for the first game in the series.

  • They think I'm not paying attention when I look at the other monitor. Video calls are second screen content.

  • I have to keep using Firefox for the mobile add-ons and because my account is synced with my desktop browser. I'm not willing to switch unless a better desktop/mobile pair comes along.

    • Buy high-end items for all of my hobbies.
    • Eat regularly at my favorite restaurants.
    • Wear clothing that isn't locally available.
  • It is exactly like that, which probably is the point. I never got on with Twitter even before the downfall. Now on Bluesky I'm being selective about what I like and follow. I'm gradually getting the kind of feed that I like to see and reply to. It takes quite a bit of work to influence the algorithms to your liking, but it offers a different social outlet than what Reddit-like sites can offer.

  • I'm not into that kind of club scene but they seem to be enjoying their lives. I approve.

  • It's problematic for Lemmy that the .ml instance gives the impression of a flagship instance since it's run by the devs. It gives the fediverse as a whole a bad look to outsiders. I speak from experience because it was one of the three recommended to me before I left Reddit.

  • They wouldn't care about the hypocrisy. The Republican party generally isn't intellectually honest, and their supporters don't pressure them to be.

  • initiative to withhold “billions of dollars in advertising revenue”

That's how he sees it, huh? He is entitled to your money by default, and you're the problem if you ever stop giving him money?

  • The man who told advertisers to go fuck themselves is mad that advertisers left.

  • Surely he would appreciate this. As we all know, he cares deeply about fertility.

  • Is it morally wrong to not spend energy forming an opinion even when I have sufficient evidence? I don't think so. I am entitled to my thoughts, whatever they may be.
