  • For niche topics, search engine AI is less than worthless. It produces an unacceptably high proportion of misinformation.

  • This is not worth challenging, especially if you are outnumbered. You are not likely to change their beliefs with evidence. The beliefs are flexible and can be endlessly swapped out with new beliefs that demand new evidence. I don't know what you should do but you definitely shouldn't attempt to change their minds like that.

  • I keep in mind that my happiness depends on everybody else's happiness. I try to see the fun in things when I have to play the part of the loser.

  • I used to wonder how SMRPG would look if the graphics were like those renders in the instruction booklet. This is it!

  • I'm waiting. The sooner everyone I follow moves to other platforms, the better.

  • That account has special privileges. It isn't affected by reports. I assume the same is true for all of Elon Musk's favorite hate speech outlets on Twitter.

  • The instigators responsible will keep getting away with it. They're very careful to use the right dog whistles and key words to avoid getting deplatformed and they still cause their followers to act like this.

  • Apps are designed for maximum engagement. I don't know if my experience is unique but I turned off all notifications in Twitter's settings, yet it still shows exactly one notification when I launch the app. Kinda creepy how blatantly they ignore your wishes to not get spammed.

  • It seems to be made by Shintaro Kago, a manga artist.

  • The pandemic gave them the stupid idea that we would willingly isolate ourselves in a profitable virtual world.

  • This thing they call a "metaverse" has already been around for a long time as MMORPGs, Second Life and VRChat. And they are actually released in a respectable state and maintained, unlike the ones that call themselves "The Metaverse".

  • I hope they would at least get it into a game engine that doesn't make my computer freak out every time I press alt+tab.

  • I pirate things because it's free and easy. My actions are not intended to serve any greater cause. There are some things I pay for out of convenience: pirated video games typically mean no official servers; Android apps are better managed automatically by the Google Play store.

  • I'm sure they would also happily attempt elimination of neurodivergent people.

  • Putting blue checks at the top ruined Twitter for me. Every trending tweet gets spammed with 😂 emojis, right-wing disinformation, and transphobic hate speech. I got tired of scrolling past them just to start seeing normal commenters. Lemmy and Mastodon are better because the average user isn't a total fucking idiot with an agenda.

  • Copying Reddit comments that can't be verified is bad journalism. In unrelated news, binge eating cheese at 4 am saved my life.

  • Right. If I wanted to save something I would copy the url.

  • Right wingers are so good at making themselves feel like victims.

  • That would be fine if my favorite users leave Twitter when it becomes irrelevant. I don't mind if Twitter stays up as a containment zone for people stupid enough to pay for a blue check mark.
