  • Only now do I realise how wrongly this image can be captioned

  • @clgoh They haven't even embraced yet and they're extending already. Nice.

  • @ttmrichter
Well it's not an actual issue; it's just my ideas of what would be better. If only I think it, why should they do anything? What I'm really trying to do is to see what people think and spark some thoughts.

  • I'd like to add that the developers' communication channels is a very inappropriate place to complain for someone who is uninvolved with the project.

(And you can tell that this is primarily directed at Mastodonians because the title is also the first line, because of the seemingly excessive explanation of how this place works and because of the hashtags and the mentions in the end of the post. Also, why would I specifically write to fedi tips if this was just a Lemmy post?)

  • Developing is not for everyone.

And I posted this in microblog format via Friendica specifically so that it would also (primarily) reach Mastodon. It's got 27 boosts, which is quite alright for such a long post!

  • @ttmrichter
Yes, donating helps them develop the project, which is great and I encourage everyone who can to do so, but it doesn't change the direction of the development. Mastodon is ultimately people powered, making spreading sentiments a reasonable way to change this, if you're not going to develop the project yourself.

  • Writing this from Friendica. I have never used Facebook, so I'm not entirely sure how people use it. BUt if you want to use a ethical platform to organise events, the best option is probably Mobilizon. If it is for general information and entertainment, I recommend Friendica (or Mastodon, which is smoother, but less flexible).

  • Yes, but they only see the title and a link to the original post in place of a body.

  • You can't on Lemmy because content outside of communities doesn't federate. But outside of that, most Fediverse platforms let you follow Lemmy communities and users, alongside everything else on the Fediverse. I can only recommend doing that on kbin and Friendica (which I'm on), though, since most other platforms don't federate Lemmy's post content.

But I still regularly catch a Mastodonian in the Lemmy comment section and occasionally even a post from one (They post here by tagging the community, by the way). @aumalatj here below you is a Mastodonian, for instance.

Nah you're fine, a gross is a pretty dated term for describing a dozen dozens, i.e. 144. I thought it was something Tolkien made up before I got into dozenal.

  • @Deme
Okay so I asked Thomas, and he said he didn't think so, but that it did get sluggish here and there ¯(ツ)

  • Friendica does this already! This is how I see your comment:

  • @Bebo
You can always migrate, but sadly there is no way to import your profile directly from Mastodon. The two best apps, Fedilab and Relatica, are fine but rather limited in functionality, so I often end up using the web version.

  • Fediverse @lemmy.ml

Well looks like a Lemmy comment is making the rounds on Mastodon!
