  • This reminds me of a coworker I had who used to call the Department of natural resources and try to convince the poor clerk that he shouldn't have to pay for a fishing license for him and his wife because gay people have the right to get married. I still don't understand the logic on that but that's what I overheard.

He then went on to attempt to abduct the governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer.

  • I make 120k in a medium sized city where the median income is about 75k. I'm pretty content, tbh. I also don't buy shit i don't need. Most of my expenses are my hobbies. I do have a lot of hobbies. But I still make enough every two weeks where I'm able to stash it away in a savings account.

Now if I only knew how to and had the balls to invest beyond retirement accounts.

  • I bought this a few years ago:

OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CSKGLMM

Would not recommend. Within a year the oil from the beans would gum up the works on the grinder and we'd be getting inconsistencies in the grind, less output than expected and eventually nothing coming out.

    Ended up buying this:

CUISINART Coffee Grinder, Electric Burr One-Touch Automatic Grinder with18-Position Grind Selector, Stainless Steel, DBM-8P1 https://a.co/d/2iznxaE

Pretty happy with it so far

Edit: I'd also add that they do make electric Burr grinders with scales. If I were to choose again, I'd get one. The advantage there is you set how much you want in grams, ounces, whatever.. it grinds until it hits that amount. It beats what is the common thing.. setting to some arbitrary number, usually "cups", which just sets a timer for the grinder. Over time, a grinder will grind less and less as it needs to be cleaned so you end up with inconsistent amounts over time and you'll be wondering why your Coffee is weaker than it used to be ;)

  • Welcome to my morning walk with the dogs every morning where its colder then 35F. Every fucking car in my neighborhood does this bullshit and when there's little to no wind, all that exhaust doesn't go anywhere and just sits at ground level where I get to breathe it in for an hour. It stick at the back of my throat for the rest of the day. Add to that snowblowers after even less than an inch of snow.

I can't fucking wait for EVs to gain market share. Its fucking disgusting what my neighbors find acceptable.

The only enjoyment I find in this situation is people that back into their garages then warm up their car while still parked in their garage, spewing that exhaust into there instead of outside. I'll never understand what brain logic leads them to that solution but it's the same people doing it every morning.

Edit: I should add that the other great thing about people doing this is the rise of car thefts since some of these people also just turn their car on, leave the keys in the car, leave it unlocked and go back indoors because it's cold

The new 988 number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline went into effect on July 16, 2022. In July 2020, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) designated 988 as the new three-digit number for the Lifeline. The number has trained staff to answer calls from individuals at risk for suicide as well as those experiencing other mental health and substance use-related emergencies. Specialized services are available for veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other groups.
