  • i respect that it might not fit going forward but these games that feel like behind the scenes egos being allowed to run around with these properties is absurd. Just release the content, why wall it up? I doubt its contractual, lately these houses seem to just want to demonstrate how completely they control some IP.

    yes you can dual boot. I have heard a lot of good things about Mint for newer users. I use Ubuntu atm.

    they dont realize there is no going back, thier path is now set.

  • Yes, make homes! we need so much more hardware, while personal instances may not be a good idea, we are so short on compute that if you are inclined run your own instance, bring your friends!

    The experience on smaller faster instances is already comparable, the content flow, really not bad either though it takes about an hour of finding and subbing to the communities you want and a day for your instance to really start grabbing the content for you.

  • note: a lot of the problems people report using lemmy.world or lemmy.ml does not affect smaller instances either.

  • Please tell me there are 3 other shafts and the building has 70 floors. This is insane.

    kbin looks more modern but I havent tried it yet. biggest sticking point is the discovery workflow. Im not sure I can get most people to do that. Its like asking them to setup a damn crypto wallet.
