You're exactly right - and they've got to be taken back or this is going to keep happening. We can't afford to let the dems hide behind gerrymandering or the electoral college anymore and ignore the obvious solution - win working class voters over. The right can win with lies and jingoism, but we can win with a determined effort to spread the truth.
Hey I was a skeptic too but got to play it for an hour during the network test and am actually cautiously optimistic. I could still be wrong but it seemed like they put a lot of thought into the new systems.
That's how they're snookering people, because most don't understand the size of these numbers. So its sounds like a lot even when they save a billion here and there but when we're talking federal budget even that is basically nothing.
He should face a jury for these crimes. And when he doesn't, what do the powers that be think is going to happen when the rest of us are tired of seeing this shit happen with no justice?
Absolutely, the themes are presented in a believable fashion and just as importantly the people in the Severance world react to the technology in believable ways.
It's a gorgeously produced narrative wreck. I really wanted to like it and there were certainly interesting parts like the clones that were fascinating. It's been a while but I remember feeling insulted like too many episodes have Harry or someone show up at the end to deliver a five minute exposition explaining what was happening.
Lots and lots of tell don't show ruins the fun for me which is why I'm loving Severance right now, they're soo good at showing not telling.
Yeah I just typed this yesterday and it's worth putting here too: in the 1930s in Germany there was a group that basically tasked itself with the protection of democracy and they waited for a signal from leadership that never came. Because leadership was waiting for the one moment. Don’t wait.
This, OP - this is the right answer. Take all the opportunies you can. AOC recently said it best: you won't regret anything you try. Some of it won't work but if we all work now and keep trying things we can make a difference.

But what, you say, well we're in uncharted territory now but: join activist groups, protest, make memes, call your congresspeople, if you're in the gov't somewhere - gum up the works, if you have money - give to liberty advocates, think of things I haven't thought of here and do them, and bring friends.
The important thing is that we all do something, and keep doing something. They can only win when we let them.
I'm going to do this by the way, thanks for the advice
