I'm in the same boat. I am really not interested in Windows 11 at all, especially after using it at work. My primary hesitation has been video game playability in the past but the steam deck has really expanded how many games are playable on Linux and I also play a lot more games on consoles than I did a few years ago

I don't personally think we're anywhere close to this point but I imagine the objective is to eat the corporate laptop market. Outside of developers I think there's a real appeal to giving business users an AR headset and a phone. You don't have to worry about monitors, keyboards, headsets, etc. It's significantly lighter and more mobile. Most of what business people do doesn't need more processing power than a phone has. You could eliminate cubes and just have banks of seats with small desks. Plus imagine the productivity gains when you can literally watch the user's eyes and prevent them from even looking at non-work items

Usually it's not enough to instantly curdle milk but it would certainly give off the same smell/taste as almost expired milk. Interesting to read that you'll be able to pair Switch 1 joycons with Switch 2. That seems like the type of thing Nintendo would have avoided in the past to prevent product confusion. I wonder if I'll be able to use my old pro controller too?

The Final Fantasy pixel remasters are all old school turn based RPGs that can be played one handed on the steam deck. Certainly not all 50 games but UFO 50 has a bunch of games made for a non-existent console that are all pretty simple and I would bet a lot of them can be played one handed. Both Crypt of the Necrodancer and Cadence of Hyrule are rhythm dungeon delver games that probably work one handed too, technically so would the new game Rift of the Necrodancer but that requires more skill than I have

Oh, and for the RPG fan Disco Elysium is almost certainly up his alley and perfect for one handed play

I would imagine logistics simulators like Satisfactory and Factorio would give you an eye for process design and flow diagrams. It'd probably help with understanding scale, inputs, and outputs too

Also the problem we have is that Republicans are just straight up ignoring laws. Why would shutting the government do anything different? You seem to assume decorum and laws matter and all evidence says otherwise

Yeah that helps quite a bit. I don't know if you've ever had a maple bourbon chicken or maplewood smoked chicken but chicken and maple does work well together. Obviously maple syrup goes well with waffles too. The syrup really does tie the room together

I will say that fried chicken is easier to fuck up than people think. As a resident of the US south I have it with regularity and a lot of it is pretty dry which sucks. Waffles however are pretty hard to fuck up. So what I'm saying is the chicken really makes or breaks the dish. Also if you have the opportunity to do it with cornbread waffles then it's a even better

1. It doesn't matter what they do, Republicans will always blame Democrats for everything. They blame Democrats for the results of Republican policy, so why are you concerned about a blame game?
2. Republicans have control of every part of the federal government, The House, Senate, Presidency, and Supreme Court. As long as Democrats just vote no and don't impede legislation (which they should also do, but I digress), their messaging should be "look how fucking incompetent your leadership is. They have every tool at their disposal and still can't run a government effectively." Why is it the Democrats job to assist them? It's not like Republicans would do the same

I would say meditation could be helpful. Being present in the moment instead of looking forward prevents that creeping dread. Likewise planning things you want to do like hanging out with friends, going to shows/movies, and group activities will probably have you focused on those on those instead of starting your week
