No, but I also haven't made comments like yours that display a profound lack of understanding for what constitutes a victim.

Are you one of those people that say girls aren't victims when fake porn is made of them and distributed so long as it's never distributed directly to them?

People have the opinion that the climate isn't changing. People have the opinion that the world is flat. People have the opinion everyone with dark skin is sub human.

Some people frame their terrible views as opinions so they can use the bad faith argument that it's just a difference of opinions so everyone should just be ok with their hateful or ignorant stances. Some people frame their terrible views as opinions to try and avoid valid criticism of their opinions contradictions with reality.

You are fervently engaging in a behavior exhibited by the hateful and ignorant and there is a pretty safe bet as to why.

I used to like Neil but then I saw him give a talk in person at a local college. There was some girl that asked a silly question during the q and a part of the visit and in front of an audience of hundreds of people Neil laid into her about how her question was stupid and she was wasting everyone's time. He did that until she started crying and left. After the next person asked a question as Neil was wrapping up his answer he decided to get another jab at the girl he already chased off by saying "and that's a real question". It's hard to convey how clearly the cruelty and contempt hung in that room.

Are you special? Because you seem to have missed that the original "they" and the "they" offered in Apollo's anecdote were not the same or comparable. Apollo never engaged with sympathy. I asked a question that they didn't answer. I asked it again politely and they started getting rude. I am not demanding an answer I'm pointing out that they just never actually answered.

I have not refused to engage in discussion. You gave an anecdote about yourself instead of answering my question about the percentage that mellow was talking about. I acknowledged your anecdote and asked my unanswered question again. You are avoiding the question because you know answering it will show that your initial quip was off. Mellow wasn't saying that wanting those things was selfish. Don't cry about insults. Every negative turn in this conversation has been initiated by you.

I'm trying to get you to see that the nature of the reasons are not what the selfishness was in reference to but rather their scope of caring. A hard right republican woman can think that she deserves to have an abortion herself but if she doesn't care if that extends to others then she is selfish. If the percentage that mellow was talking about are only liberal because the issues listed impact them then that does kinda seem selfish. It is not a commentary at all about the rightness or wrongness of those issues.
