Maybe it’s a primal thing (or, well, a “discovery of agriculture” thing). I love Triscuits. Plain.
For those of you who don’t know what Triscuits are, they’re simply wheat crackers. The ingredients are whole-grain wheat, canola oil, and salt. That’s it.
A good workaround, but making the keyboard smaller isn’t a long-term solution. Cool trick, though. Thanks for sharing. I just tried it, and it’s pretty neat.
Salary demands are a good way to weed out the cheapskate companies that can’t retain employees, won’t treat you with respect, and generally aren’t worth the effort. Frustrating, yes, but it’s their loss and not yours.
Once I came here, It took me a few months to “detoxify” after using reddit for years. Reddit was bad, but got that way slowly enough that I didn’t realize it until I came to Lemmy. It was like the internet version of PTSD. I’m not as hyper-defensive as I used to be.
I block people because I have a lower tolerance for trolls/assholes. Maybe they could blend in with the crowd on reddit, but here, I’m just not gonna put up with their shit.
And because the only person he was endangering was himself. It’s not like he was committing sex crimes, like countless celebrities and politicians. The man actually had ethics.
People only call Carlin a comedian because it’s a convenient label. That isn’t all he was.
He was a philosopher and social/political/economic critic who wrapped his observations in comedy in order to make the pill easier to swallow. He genuinely worked harder for the American people than virtually every politician who claims to.
I miss him, but I’m also glad he isn’t around to see how badly we fucked up.
My job requires me to be on my feet constantly. I’m looking for all-day comfort, durability, support, overall quality, and a fair price. “Fair” doesn’t necessarily mean “low”. An inexpensive pair of sneakers can cost more over time if I have to replace them every year.
I feel kinda bad for the people who bought Teslas before Musk revealed himself as a reprehensible jackass. Of course, there are bigger things to be concerned about, but I think about it every time I drive down my street. There’s a family with two.
No, it’s not a talking point. I just don’t like them.
Even when the opposing point of view is shallow, bullheaded, and wrong, it needs to be explained. You can’t successfully argue against a conservative point of view unless you know what it is, and what sort of counterattacks to expect. HuffPost often doesn’t do that. They raise awareness, which is good, but their thoroughness is often limited.
And yes, I did read the headline, but I’ll explain myself more clearly for you: when HuffPost is the only liberal news organization with an office in the Pentagon, they’re more likely to be quoted. When the news organization being quoted is a mediocre one, it makes us all look bad. See?
HuffPost? Because some of their columnists overreact so much they make everyone who opposes Trump look ridiculous? If that’s the main reason, it would be the first intelligent thing this administration has done. Even I don’t consider HuffPost to be an entirely credible news source.
Vague, sexist generalizations deserve rude answers.
