  • GameCube. Because I have fond memories of it in my childhood. I prefer it over PS2 because it properly supports 4 player games (without any extra gadgets).

Smash Bros. Mario Kart. TimeSplitters. All excellent couch multiplayer games. Even Metroid Prime 2 had quite fun multiplayer.

And Soul Calibur 2 got Link.

  • You don’t need to know math or physics to build a house. Sure, it can help if you know those things, but it’s not essential.

Same goes with programming. Math and programming are two separate skill sets, but knowing one can probably help with the other.

Also, a question for you. Why do you want to do Common Lisp? If you’re skeptical about your abilities I recommend to start with a more common programming language (like Python, Java, C#). Easier to find good learning resources.

  • Speech to text is one thing. Actually understanding all the intricate details and variations of language is incredibly difficult. It’s good enough for some stuff, but I’ve yet to see a system a system that’s reliable enough for day to day use, especially in a car.

Scenarios like this happens way too often:

    “Set alarm for fifteen minutes”

“Ok, setting alarm fifty minutes from now”

    “No! FIFTEEN minutes”

“I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you mean”

“Remove old alarm and set it to fifteen minutes instead”

    “Playing song on Spotify…”

  • Open environments are way more productive and creative then lock stuff for decades.

The idea of copyright and patents is to ensure that you can get compensated for your own work. There’s no point in creating a unique idea when Disney can just copy it and take all the money for themselves.

There are flaws with how copyright and patents are implemented, but that doesn’t mean they’re fundamentally broken. The alternative would be much worse.
