  • Miles and pounds came to America from England, but miles were the common system at least as far back as the Romans.

    Short form numbers are used throughout the English speaking world and are the international scientific standard.

    Why is is that you think that your system of squaring makes more sense than the system of a new name for every third power of ten?

  • Americans wouldn't know about it, but Ribena is a popular (blackcurrant) fruit drink in much of the world, produced by GlaxoSmithKline. For decades they advertised how it was high in vitamin C, until in 2007 some school kids in New Zealand were doing a project to show how it was healthier than cheaper brands, when they found out that it contained no vitamin C.

  • Bush was an average student academically, not excelling but also not failing. He excelled in social skills though. He was able to remember names and details of everyone in a room. He was convivial and enthusiastic. He was a member of many clubs, groups, and societies. He was proof that being liked is sometimes more important than being smart.

    Trump is not either. He's proof that if you keep telling people that you're better than them then lots of them will believe you.
