Well yeah. Pretty much everybody agrees that Biden didn't help, allowed the weapon supply to continue. Trump is worse. Kamala would have been better but not good. I don't think any of this is particulary controversial. The election wasn't really about the Democrats being better, they just suck less.

So, most pump POS used to have a labeled or unlabeled mute button. That has become rare.

So far, I've been able to kick all of them into a diagnostic/trouble menu by pressing pairs of keys on each side of the monitor in sequence from the top.

Some of them have a timeout on this screen, but the counter resets when you hit a key.

Passwords can be entered from the keypad, with ok/enter also working. I bet the passwords are the manufacturer default, probably a 5-7 digit number. I was able to find partial training manuals and setup docs from one of the POS vendors but I didn't find a default password or deeper technical docs for the one brand I looked into.

Yeah, I see things reported or comments on Lemmy that ping my radar. Used to see it on thedonald subreddit. That was painfully transparent at first, you could see the Russians clock in and go to work.

All of this sounds like crazy talk, certainly makes me feel paranoid. However, I don't think most of us, myself included, understand the scale of the media manipulation that is occuring. I think it's chaotic, state level actors and corporations. Lemmy having a single source for its manipulation is unusual but it is small and nerdy.

When he gets home and throws a fit, call the cops on him and deny everything and act frustrated and put out. Talk about your sick mother. This may fix it. Ifi not, at least make it much better.
