How is this not technically also the same? WiFi can replace Ethernet all of the time with degraded connectivity outside of super secure offerings. The same argument is made for production quality vs home release quality.
You’re basically making the exact same Betamax vs VHS argument. The only different is Apple is the Porn industry embracing Bluetooth in favor or wired products.
Unless you mean GB, that’s a fake drive. If you mean GB it’s cause the lower density memory chips are in lower supply as we continue to streamline manufacturing
Nah drunkenslug is an indexer. You need both an indexer and provider to use usenet. Indexers normally cost money via a donation for lifetime or 1 year of download privilege.
Providers you pay for via different plan types. Some sell “block” accounts where you get XGB of download and once it’s gone it’s gone. Some have a subscription model with a bandwidth allotment. Some have pay a flat fee for unlimited access. All depends on what you’re willing to pay.
R/usenetproviders has a wiki but I recommend Eweka or NewsDemon
If you have a matrix server, then yes the mautrix-imessage bridge has a docker container. Beeper itself you can’t really self host as it’s their matrix server you live on (I haven’t checked out the beeper-selfhosted git yet).
I’m pretty sure the playbook is just docker under the hood on a service user instead of your normal user. There’s a way to run the playbook with docker as well (memory is fuzzy on that).
Beeper is sick! Would highly recommend. Or if you’re feeling frisky, self hosting the bridge in a docker container is possible. The container is a kvm osx vm.
Never gonna happen with them pushing this speed boundary as much as I’d also love prices to go down. I’d also like to see more PC compatibility for Thunderbolt hardware on motherboards (besides ASUS)
As someone who just dumped their AE-5 I could not STAND the driver. Windows and Linux. Unless you’re running monitors by default, it’s not worth the hassle. The UI+driver on windows are just clunky, old, and have been the cause of a few BSODs over the years.
Your only reason answer is don’t buy a “server” motherboard. They inherently perform more tasks during post to ensure stability. If you want fast post times get a desktop and a pikvm
