That's more like "I give up" / "I don't care anymore" (equivalent of "fuck this"). Not giving a fuck is "mă doare-n cot / în cur / în pix / în pulă / în șpiț" ("it hurts in my elbow / ass / pen / dick / no idea")
I'm just imagining people being judged for having family on that list. Does the list include potentially innocent people? Or is it all guilty but they have to say "suspected" because the lack of trial?
If it's a beginner trying to learn those commands, definitely the latter.
If it's a beginner trying to set up their environment for the actual thing they're trying to learn, then a fire and forget single command is more user-friendly.
"Suspected" as in not confirmed? I'm all for publishing the names of known collaborators, but just suspected collaborators sounds dangerous. I was alive during a regime where "suspected" was enough for an arrest and enhanced interrogation.
The Lynch movie is what the characters will always look like in my head. I liked the Syfy miniseries too (which I watched shortly after reading the books). And I also like the new movies.
I notice that a big percentage of "hated" movies tie in with existing fan-bases. New movies in existing franchises, book adaptations, etc. Guess people go in with certain expectations and hate it when those are not met.
I didn't know Prometheus was supposed to tie in with the Alien series (which I loved), so I had no expectations related to that. I enjoyed the movie and I was surprised at the end to see what looked like a Xenomorph.
That being said, I also have my share of movies I hated because they didn't live up to my expectations from the books. I love the Harry Potter movies, but I was disappointed by how much they left out. I couldn't watch The Expanse past the first couple of episodes because of how much was changed. And then there's Foundation, which so ridiculously misses the mark that I'm able to enjoy as a series that just happens to share a title and some character names with the books, but is otherwise an unrelated story.
I absolutely loved Cloud Atlas and I was crying at the end. I didn't know anything about it, didn't know about the book, didn't know it was hated until now. Just a movie that I liked the trailer for, so I watched it and I'm glad I did.
They're not advertising to existing consumers, they're trying to attract new ones. If someone is shopping around for sort functions and yours says it uses radix to make it faster and more performant, then it's likely going to be a good selling point. Similarly, they put "we use AI, so you know it's good" on everything because they think that's also a good selling point.
I just looked up my old geography textbook from 6th grade to double check if I was remembering correctly. And it's yes and no. It was indeed North America, Central America, and South America, but they all were regions of a single continent: America.
There's currently no formal definition requiring that. By that definition, none of Pluto's five moons would be moons, since they all orbit the same barycenter.
