  • Two reasons to wait:

    • people in their early 20s are more likely to change dramatically later, so definitely more of a gamble at that age
    • because it's a gamble, you should already be well prepared for life on your own before doing it; that gives you a solid fallback in case things don't work out
  • I'm not even sure thinness was something consumers ever would have demanded

Something popular back in the removable battery days was to replace them with thicker extended capacity batteries. So no, battery life was more important to a lot of comsumers.

  • It is. Slack and Discord didn't kill forums, Reddit did. Because Reddit is a mega-forum. Instead of creating a specialized forum somewhere on a website you need to maintain, it's easier to just create a subreddit. Bam, new forum!

And we're discussing the disappearance of forums on a forum...

  • It's was just notes, not work work (that's all in the cloud). And yes,I expect things to be there the next day, it's been decades since I was working on a 2x86 with a bad hard drive that froze ar random intervals, so I had to save every few seconds. I do save even my random notes now, just in case, but if they get closes I will probably forget about them because the whole point is to have them on screen as reminders.

  • I do my actual work in the cloud. But when I want to just jut down quick notes I open a Notepad window and write them there. Usually it's something I need to remember for just a few hours later. Sometimes it's something I'll be expanding on somewhere permanent later on. It's just the most handy place to write something down quickly. Sometimes I have one such window open, sometimes I end up with 6. I just so happened that night I had some more important notes that I didn't transfer yet. I've got into the habit of saving them now just in case, so I have tons of small text files that I'll probably forget about.

  • I choose the one that's available

Edit: what I mean is you don't always get a choice of parking spot. Of course I took my cart back if it was within reach. But in the cases it required going too far from the car when I had babies inside, I didn't.

  • Depends on their age. They were the reason I didn't take the cart back when they were very little. I didn't want to leave them in the car and go to the other side of the parking lot.

  • Nobody is pretending. People either already know the original meme and use it to deduce the translation, or they have the minimal understanding of Spanish required to read the text.

  • This is the first time I see a non-English meme outside of non-English communities. And you can easily block the latter. And I wouldn't really count this as non-English, since the main text is English and the meme text is a known meme already.
