One easy way to start is not by doing it all at once. Start by avoiding the Playstore and using fdroid instead. On your main OS replace proprietary software with foss alternatives. Once you get comfortable with that, THEN you can make the next steps. It doesn't have to happen overnight, but you'll be heading in the right direction:)
Of course this is true, but moving to a privacy respecting OS, like linux or buying a phone w a custom ROM installed goes a long, long way to improving the situation.
It's quite shocking to me how it seems very few Americans understand the level of corruption that exists in their government, or any Western government for that matter.
Fluffy chat is by far the easiest as it behaves more like an Instant Messenger with less focus on groups which is what makes element confusing. There's also much easier key handling and verification across devices. For anyone using a mainstream app like WhatsApp, element is a mess...confusing as hell.
Sounds great, the more options users have the better, I say!
