  • Pretty sure the French far right straight-up ripped off this conspiracy from the US alt-right. Same as the trans hysteria.

  • What do you use? I rooted my phone precisely for this, but google pay and my bank still see I'm not on the stock ROM : (

  • They have to call, mail or physically go to the bank I guess.

  • Unfortunately it will, if I want to add a new transfer recipient or make a payment on a 3D secure website, the app is mandatory, even on desktop.

  • Sadly most French banks use a custom validation process which requires you to use their app to validate a transaction. And my main bank's app has warned me that it will "soon" stop working on custom ROMs...

  • Yeah but banking apps are starting to check integritynet, and (in France, at least) they're pretty much mandatory to do anything useful with your bank account/credit card online... I think Uber does too, I boycott them but others might follow suit...

Currently running lineageos, but I think I'll just give up and go for a Pixel for my next phone... Sucks to let google win but I like to do useful things with my phone...

  • I guess it depends on your country, but he's not obsessed with immigration and Islam so as far as French people are concerned he's conservative but not far right.

  • Well he's not really far right, but he sure is far-right compatible.

  • Even more hilarious is the amount of people who believed Macron when he said he wasn't right wing.

  • They cut the quote too soon. He actually argued that mass killing was more humane as the alternative was starvation, because try as they might, the poor Nazis weren't able to feed their prisoners. So they decided to mercy-gas them instead.

  • Same as Windows and MacOS, really. You can follow best practices and conventions, or just install your software wherever you want.

  • I mean US did it, twice, on civilians, no sanctions

There are of course a lot of reasons why these two situations can't really compare, but an obvious and major difference is that only the US had nukes at the time, so no MAD.

  • I guess it could, as we have to take meta's word for it, and a quick google search hasn't turned up any independent security audit.

  • Not sure about US companies, but I've never seen an AC plug on European and Asian companies' airplanes. They do have USB ports but they're underpowered (barely enough to keep my battery at the same level while playing music on BT headphones) or straight up don't work. Ask a flight attendant in the latter case, they'll reboot your screen which might fix the issue.

  • They don't want to ban encryption, they want to block encrypted chat apps, precisely so they don't have to build backdoors. AFAIK it's not possible to break signal/WhatsApp encryption without access to the targeted device, and once you have access you can get the messages directly without having to break the encryption.

  • Zuckerberg wrote that the censored content included humor and satire

    So, fake news I guess...

  • "School" starts at 3 in France. But it's more like a kindergarten for 3 years, then you enter primary school at 6 where you learn reading and writing.

  • Thanks for checking us out :) We had an audit done by quarkslab a few years back, and another one coming up this year since we're currently implementing verified relations (signed SDPs). I'll edit my comment with a link when I get back to work next week.

  • Ada Rook fucking rocks. Also I'm currently obsessed with Lauren Blousfield, though I'd call her music more "terrifying" than "silly".
