  • I hope so, I guess really I'm sad cause humanity's aspirations are just not sellable anymore to a mass market. At this point i have created a plex box ripped all my DVDs ans Blu-rays of old trek and use the Playlist feature with random to create my own trek channel. I know it's pathetic but it brings me confort.

  • Pretty down I realized today the reason Star Trek being made today is not aspirational like old trek was. At first I thought it was bad writers not getting star trek but now I understand, the writers can't write aspirational when they don't see a future deep in their heart.

Becase deep down we all know we can never make it to that world with peace and a bright future. We will hate and kill each other till the climate wipes us all out and the only life in the solar system is microbes on Mars.

  • By that point you will have to buy the Mico fission reactor addon to power the 6090. It's like Nvidia looked at the power triangle of power / price and preformence and instead of picking two they just picked one and to hell with the rest.

  • What do you do when you see someone steal baby food from the supermarket?

You didn't see anything to do anything.

What do you do when ICE asks about immigrants in your neighborhood?

You didn't see anyone and don't talk with your neighbors. Then post to the group about ghosts in the neighborhood because everyone wants to know about Paranormal Activity.

  • Use whatever works for you. Perfect is the enemy of good. If there was anything better or just as good as free software as the few blobs that are in there they would be replaced since blobs are a pain to work around.

  • It's all about execution everyone should be questioning themselves if they are correct in there thinking and creating an atmosphere of wanting to be proving wrong. If I join the group with an agenda of tearing down the group then no it's not an echo chamber when I get kicked out. But if I join and then notice something about the tulips like they use too much water or are bad for the soil and I bring that evidence with the intent to have a good faith discussion about it. But I'm still kicked out that's is an echo chamber.

  • The bill I paid for Suse support contact at an old company I worked for begs to differ. The problem is home or smb are a rounding error for MS. They already got your money from hp or Dell etc. When you bought your computer. Making you the product with the ad and the ai bullshit to swallow your data to train their models is all icing on the cake.

  • I have been with 110v plenty of times used to wire houses in my youth. Been hit once with 220v knocked me on my ass for 3 days. I stopped being so cavalier after that I wish they had those outlets vs the midevil outlets the US has.

  • Also a great YouTube channel to keep up with the news but is short and puts things in context and if needed what you can do to help is belle of the fifth column.

Also good rule of thumb if the article starts off with X said this vs X did this skip the article. Focus on what people in power do vs what they say as shitty journalists will write an article about a tweet that 9 times out of 10 is a distraction vs real journalism talking about the actions. Propublica is one of the few journalistic outfits that do that.

  • That's a big assumption but if not there may be a few of us that have adapted to the harsh air and live in holes in the Arctic and Antarctic poles where they can find land to protect from the super windstorms and acid rain. But I'm not sure what the food source will be. Maybe that shit they eat in the matix movies. Because you can't grow anything due to the acid rain and contaminated soil from the above mentioned acid rain.
