  • I use NoScript to block every script from google except for ytimg and youtube and I haven't seen anything like that; though, I do only watch 1-2 videos at a time, maybe I haven't 'triggered' it.

I can even disable origin and still not see any ads because NoScript blocks them from loading in the first place.

  • Perhaps Arch Linux? Maybe a bit too much for a toe dip though, I wouldn't know. You'll likely run into driver issues (wifi, audio and apple specific hardware) and Arch ostensibly has the latest drivers. Will happily be corrected though, I've been languishing on Ubuntu and haven't had to fix anything in years.

  • Shill posts, shill posts everywhere.

  • With the current system, anyone with physical access to your Hue bridge can take it over just by pressing the button.

If a bad actor has access to your home, I doubt light bulbs will be your main concern...

  • Same, though I did try to chroot. Totally failed though. Luckily I had backups, which I learned never backed up properly.

The lessons I learned were to never trust a GUI and always make sure your backups are viable. I still have a copy of a duplicity backup form ~2020 that I hope one day to recover, if anythings in it.

  • I'm happy, this means that I can play it on my Linux PC.

  • Now I don't want to move my cursor

  • That moment when you go shopping, but have to stop a column of tanks on the way home.

  • I did, can you see the link? The picture was originally from there.
