  • Terrorism doesn't have an empire in the same way. They don't usually occupy an entire nation with an economy and complex professional society. The empire was crushed.

    Terrorism is all underground. Do we know how it's funded? What are the economics of terrorism? Infrastructure? They're more slippery.

  • These are legit arguments. It's my argument for sometimes using Mint on older machines. I guess I've been brainwashed into thinking Ubuntu is bloated. It's been like seven years since I used it.

    EDIT:

    Wait... so FreeBSD is NOT Linux, and yet I can use the suite of Linux apps that I'm accustomed to? I can use Gnome or KDE PLasma or i3? And LibreOffice, etc? This is extra intriguing.

  • where is your data/.files?

    It's all just in the home folder in the same partition. I haven't made any effort to separate them, and maybe I should. Either a 2nd physical drive or at least a partition.

    For me nix is work and not a hobby. I would starve if I fuff about with distros

    My work computer is a macbook pro that work lends out to me, so my fuffing about is all recreational self-harm.
