  • I'm confused. Was there another CEO killed or harmed? Or was it still just the one? I mean, if CEOs were falling like flies in NY state, then I guess it would make sense to have a special hotline for a task force or something.

But if it's still a tiny number of CEOs, then something like this would be a giant waste of government resources.

  • There have been people who grew up without language, and learned to speak much later in life. It can happen to deaf people who grow up in a place where they don't receive support for their deafness, for example.

But anyways, it is possible to ask those people what they thought about before they learned language, and at least one of them answered that they didn't really think about anything.

So if humans are like this without language, it's more likely that dogs are similar to what you suggest.

  • It could, theoretically, be like this on purpose, not only due to things like cargo space on specific planes, but also because this sort of pricing can have a psychological effect.

People don't really know what shipping is supposed to cost, so the way they decide whether a price is good is by comparing it to other prices.

90 seems like a lot, but if it's cheaper than the "economy" rate, people might be more inclined to purchase it and feel like they got a good deal.

  • Yoon cited a motion by the country's opposition Democratic Party, which has a majority in parliament, this week to impeach some of the country's top prosecutors and its rejection of a government budget proposal.

Imagine declaring martial law, and these were the only concrete reasons you could come up with.

  • I don't think it's so much YOLO as recognizing that Hunter would be a target of Trump once he assumes office.

It seems to me to be a form of self defense. People do things that they otherwise wouldn't do when the alternative is bad enough.

  • The toilet break was described as "urgent".

I'm surprised that they don't have some contingency plan for this sort of thing. You know, like radio ahead and have a substitute conductor waiting at the next station. Because shit happens.

Maybe they do have a contingency plan and it failed.

  • The dad's comment strongly resembles a lot of posts that I've seen where people say that their kids won't talk to them anymore. They always leave out the most relevant information and act like some lesser thing is the actual problem. They may do it intentionally or unintentionally. It may be narcissism. It may be an inability to face reality. It may be that they always minimize their children.

But if you hear from the daughters, it will likely not simply be that he voted for Trump. We're missing out on entire lifetimes of context. There will be a lot of discussions leading up to that point. There will be a refusal to hear the children out. There will likely be a long history of emotional abuse.

And then, the last straw probably won't even be his vote for Trump, but some terrible behavior that he exhibited afterwards. These parents then go online and make up some story that lets them be the victim. You can't say for sure that this is the case, but nowhere in his post does he even try to acknowledge any specific things that his daughters said.

  • Like him or hate him, Biden was never not going to back Israel. He'd been an Israel supporter for a long time before he became president, and there's really no excuse for not knowing that if you're at all interested in American politics. People wish they could elect some sort of ideal president, but I've never seen one, yet.

So, given that, you might alternatively say that Hamas's enduring legacy will be the destruction of America. When they attacked Israel at that time, because of the players involved, the GOP's chances of winning big in 2024 really surged.

  • I also basically never get bored. If I am put into a situation that other people would find boring, I tend to get lost in my thoughts or daydream.

If that's not an option, I often find that I don't get bored even just doing simple tasks that others would find boring.

The only time I ever generally feel bored is if I am somehow required to do a truly mind numbing task, like wait for something to happen, and I am forcing myself to pay attention.
