  • Yes! That's what confuses me. I'm voting Liberal because there's no real proportional representation (yet 🤞) and we need to keep Pierre out of office.

However, when I speak to Conservative voters and I ask them why ... they're describing the NDP platform and I'm so confused.

  • Yup. Richest guy in the world also wants to be the most popular and loved too. He could have easily continued that image by not actively damaging his "brand" for no reason with his immature outbursts. He also could have given money to those that needed it. He's never going to do it seems because those were never apart of his core values. He loves pretending that they are though.

There was a post yesterday or so that he was extremely depressed after getting booed on stage with Dave Chappelle. That made me quite happy.

  • Yeah about the same. I still feel like we should be voting regardless.

I always had an opinion of, if I don't vote (as a bare minimum) I can't complain about the outcome. I am considering maybe being more politically active or involved lately though.

  • My coworker was like, "in your working life you work like 40 years, you probably pay $2 million in taxes. Do you think you're getting your moneys worth? In Canada, you are not incentivised to work, sitting at home you can make more money than working"

I had to swing the conversation back to like, how about we tax the rich instead of attacking each other. I didn't realize how many of my coworkers were right-wing. There were more of them in tech than I thought.

  • I've seen people go into areas hit by Trump and then whining about how Trump would make prices better for them and he's hurt them instead. Then they ask if they'd wish they'd vote them and they reflexively answer "no". It's like cultural. They would vote for these morons no matter what.

  • ban it in Canada ... for crying out loud. We can't keep losing democracy thanks to big tech.

I'm pretty sure more people look at these ads than watched TV political ads and I think they had more restrictions that these ever did.

  • For coding, I treat it as an overly enthusiastic junior-mid.

It's also great because I'm learning terraform and I just don't want to look up the syntax. I just tell it to add something and it'll do the lookup for me.

It gets it wrong sometimes which is where I need to do the lookup but it definitely has its uses.

  • Yeah, I absolutely agree with that. I haven't upped my Loblaws budget after quitting Walmart. I've been going to more local shops and stuff. I have been paying more, but I've been attributing it to the higher quality goods/services.

Also, even besides all of this US "hatred" stuff. In general, we should be shopping local for the environment and to support smaller and local businesses.
