  • Fusion has 3+4 yrs of software support. But, edge 60 pro and neo should have 5yrs of software updates.

  • Better compatibility(most every Linux command should work fine since the directory structure will be same unlike termux) and high number of apps. Also, unlike proot it will have better performance and run faster since its native emulation.

  • Its beyond bleak – dead.

Samsung A series were the last hope. Now, that they are dead – and stuck on 256gb. Your only options are portable SSD/micosdcard with type C support, buying a phone with 512gb/1TB storage.

Honestly, the A56 makes literally no sense. You could just get the S24fe since it lost the one defining feature which would've made it worth Samsung's asking price.

  • You should've read the article. In an ideal world every device phone gets this process done in seconds. But, we don't and not everyone can afford to buy a decently powerful enough phone.

For those people, downloading the optimized odex files could be faster than creating them on device. Thanks to availability of super fast internet.

  • There is, I'm pretty sure of it. But, I can't remember where?!

  • That's why you install Emacs and never look back. Everything you need in one program. No need to exit at all.

  • Based on the recent Edge 50 neo. 5 years give or take.

  • Imagine this being the default for 90% of people. Weird, huh?

  • I could not find anything online. Can you share the product listing page?

  • I want a 20000mah power bank with wireless charging capabilities. Is it that hard to make?

  • Sony's is more In-Depth, .

    In what manner?

I know Sony had originally contributed the battery saver to AOSP since that was not standard back then.

  • I still have phones whose USB ports were not toast or did not get hot while charging. But, they do drop down in not being able to hold a charge. I guess it depends on usage and the OEM in question.

  • I just tested and Voyager saved the image in the pictures directory of android. Voyager does not ask or need any permission. I'm on android 14. So, it may be different for you if you are on an older android version.

  • The android theme needs some work. Especially, in regards to animations. They are abrupt compared to the Apple version.

Also, I noticed when using the quote feature. It is the same color as the theme background making it impossible to see. The apple version renders it as grey making it slightly more visible.

    this is a quote

which was not obvious because the quote was rendered in a similar dark color as the theme background.

  • Google has shared more details on how AOSP will change after it makes Android OS development fully private

    TL;DR

    • Google has confirmed to Android Authority that the Android team will still review code contributions from external developers.
    • The company also shared details on what branch of Android platform developers should work with from now on, as well as what will happen to other AOSP-adjacent projects.
    • The details shed light on what exactly will change after Google takes development of the Android OS fully private.
  • I heard they removed the previous builds to avoid this very scenario.

  • The Pixel 4a was a midrange not a budget phone in any manner. Anyway, modern day phones are enough powerful to last years. Especially, midrange phones and higher. The flagship may get you flagship cameras, processor. But, everything else is not 2x or 3x better for the increased price.

If you have the disposable income sure. For most people 90% of the experience is the same and sufficient for their daily needs. Not needing an expensive $1000+ liability who's repair cost on failure outside warranty be expensive.

That aside, modern phones seem to get fewer and fewer useful features with each release so I don't really see the appeal of 'upgrading' until I literally have no choice.

Yeah, with years of software updates. There's literally no need. Unless, you break the phone and cannot get it repaired.

  • Who in their right mind enables notifications for new videos? There can be countless subscriptions. Better to simply check the ones in the app.

  • Sounds like a justification to buy expensive Smartphone.
