  • AI this, AI that. It's going to run AI features in google cloud. Which could be one the reasons for the high price.

  • I don't know about that. But, you ask this question on the lineageOS libera chat.

  • The pixel 8 was exciting because it was the 1st android smartphone which broke the usual 5 years of update cycle and jumped to 7 years. Making other OEMs like Samsung and OnePlus to play catchup.

Pixel 9 appears like a minor improvement in comparison. Hopefully, the SOC provides improved battery life due to better modem, and modern ARM cortex cores.

  • According to the article these are nightly (not stable) builds. So, some things may be broken and un reported at this time. You can see known bugs in the device section on the LineageOS wiki page.

  • Search the settings. Or install from play store for a convinient shortcut.

  • think it's global releases for some?

Could be. It was a long time ago. Miui 12.5 on a redmi 7a. I had to turn off recommendations, turn off app scanning when installing new apps. Outside of ads, the broken APIs made my decision to never switch to Mi ever again.

  • Launch the Find My Device app. Click your avatar and click find my device settings. You should network options and the granularity with to enable or disable the option.

  • It should be compatible on most android smartphones running the latest version of play services. The default should work for lost smartphones and items in high traffic areas. So, tracking in low density areas may be spotty.

  • It runs on Google's Find My device network. All android smartphones which support the latest location reporting are supported. Though, how it works in practice can be different.

  • Simple Mobile tools were sold to a shady figure a while ago. I would use fossify or material files if I were you.

  • Wow, really? Lucky you. I read one person said he had tried all and they were apparently all claimed.

  • Don't worry. I had sufficient experience with them in the past. Won't be going there ever again. Considering, I use gestures with 3rd party launchers. HyperOS/MIUI smartphones are a no go for me.

  • 1st and 3rd are doable. 2nd will depend on their expertise.

As for 4th. Yeah, some more effort could've been expended on their part.

BTW, you forget a limb for your character . When replying on Lemmy (and perhaps the broader fediverse) you need to escape the backslash twice for it to display correctly ¯(ツ)

  • Outside of buying and lots of phones, and doing stress tests on them. What else could they have done? Considering, no one bothered to answered. ¯(ツ)

  • Personally i use poweramp EQ app. But, I don't see any similar settings in the app. I will give wavelet a try just to see this feature in action.

  • I will when they officially sell it in my country.

  • Xioami should disable ads atleast on their premium Mi smartphones.
