The biggest insult Youtube could get. A person refusing to use it even when it had zero ads because it was heavy.

But, yes I agree Youtube mobile app is inefficient and reloads losing my place. Unfortunately, I have the same issue with grayjay making even that one a non-starter.

Bad news. Because you wouldn't be able to flash custom ROMs or do other modifications to your device.

If you are not familiar with rooting and custom ROMs. It should not matter to you.

The performance may not be on par with other Flagships Socs. But, it can be considered a decent upper midrange flagship smartphone. The pixel phones after Pixel 8 are decent and do not have the bad heating issues of the past Pixel generations.

Yeah, keepassDX works great. The keyboard function makes up for the 10% finicky apps where autofill cannot work for some reason. I have found only one app where copy-paste is blocked. This works for 99.99% of use cases.

What about it? It also lacks sdcard support and is fixed at 128/256gb storage options.

I'm using firefox from playstore and its been fine for the most part. Perhaps try Firefox from playstore to see if it works any differently for you.

Anyone else feel the pain of trying to get a decent upper midrange smartphone which either has 12GB of ram, sdcard support and/or internal storage higher than 256GB in a decent price?

Many OEMs like nothing which I would've considered are obsessed with 128GB - 256GB of fixed internal storage.

If you can't provide a 512GB -1TB option in decent price range. Add support for sdcard storage. It can't be that hard to do so.

The chinese version would lack Google Play services. Your standard android apps could break. Sideloading play services could be an option. But, I'm not sure if it is seamless and without quirks here.

Being a chinese ROM english translations could also be rough. Research more and make your choice. If the things I mentioned do not matter much. You should be fine.

It is never up-to-date and lags months behind chromium releases. As of today. The last update was on Aug 13 2023. April 24 2024. It's currently Oct 2 2024. I would steer clear if anyone is still using it today. Firefox is much better.

Yeah, samsung has been stagnating for a years now. Chinese manufacteres are bringing silicon carbon batteries and other innovations in the market. But, samsung is pulling an apple on us. I respect the update policy and feature rich software from samsung but we need better.

Its not an actual competitor considering you need both a samsung smartphone and the galaxy store app to actually download apps. The discounted apps are limited to samsung smartphones. Meanwhile, those brought on Playstore can be installed on any google play services compatible smartphone.

By downloading apps from 3rd party App stores and websites. If you only download your apps from trusted sources you should be fine.

The recommendations are not the best but good enough. I usually get movie clips, repair clips, some animal clips and some tech ones.

It won't. Higher midrange redmi phones do not support sdcard. I too am in the same boat for phones. Getting a good flagship grade phone with a good processor, updates support and sdcard support is tough. Samsung comes close but misses the mark by some.

Yeah, $200 is like the price of a fully functioning entry level samsung A15/16 series smartphone which would get 5-6 years of updates! This is ridiculous. Being a niche brand and pulling these stunts is stupid.
