  • Yes; so one can view this as state propaganda ( officially done by the nation).

That is hard to work around. But it has limits and the social fabric of the country is changing: both by technology and a rebound of the internal mass migrations of the last few decades.

    A lot will change

  • There is always hope. It’s just that there are no daily stats yet.

I’m not an expert; but after looking at political turmoil in the last few decades I tend to categorize this stage as the “march of the idealists”, lovely bunch of people who would not hurt a fly.

Not sure if when or how the less kind sort of people come in. Usually, something has to rile up those people. And it’s not done by sympathetic stories or appeals to the heart strings.

  • Many states have different methods, some better or worse.

The recount thing made me very excited the last few years. I totally agree with what you said.

It’s easy enough to get a printed receipt, and make a paper trail. It’s rarer to have those used.

  • I would be happy if there were regular protests this size. But the only regular protests in the foreseeable future will be the much smaller ones against ice?

Americans still seem to be learning how to protest, and are busy congratulating themselves on a false start

  • lol I remember the patriot act; forgotten battles… I had so many issues with stuff going on at that time and was pretty naive then too. I think one of the things that made me realize how messed up things were, were the amazing reactions to 9-11 and similar. I was just stunned
