  • The bar for resisters in high places is so low that a bum off the streets, not living in reality, could vote against a crime while enabling countless other injustices.

And they would be feted, cheered, wined and dined by the high and low. They would be seen as good people, and remembered in history. School children would be inspired

  • Physically, hips. Bane of larger wolves. Then we have how that new fur changes their comfort and heat regulation . It’s more than cosmetic: hundreds of variables

Then there is psychology: how all this affects their feelings, how it affects other wolves interacting with them.

Notice the pups are bottle fed: lack of maternal care. Having taken in many dogs, I know that really is important. Then, finally isolation.

Given how the press release and non peer reviewed paper overhypes. I’m not sure if I would want these people to be my vet, never mind dna tinkers.

  • We are watching the beginning of the greatest wealth transfer in modern history.

If it succeeds or not depends on how many clearly understand this is theft and not incompetence.

  • This was unethical research though. They basically tweaked a few things in a wolf without regard to quality of life.

And the changes are so superficial that it reminds me of a gimmick to raise more money; I actually looked for references to crypto and block chain, in case they went there too.

  • It needs to be constant protests in Washington DC, where a significant number of people don’t go home overnight.

Size does not matter, it’s fine to start with a few dozen people.

As seen elsewhere , it’s not important individuals stay, it’s important the total number of people coming and going keep up a total.

Volunteer rides can get people back and forth and deliver groceries, hygiene, supplies and the hundreds of other things needed for a constant presence.

It’s very possible to work, manage childcare, and participate. Can go on day off or half a day.. can go once a month

  • These percentages are BS without context.

    • 50% of the population could go out for a single day protest. Nothing changes
    • 10% of the population could do daily protests. Nothing changes.
    • 3% of the population could shut down the country, all hell breaks loose. maybe change maybe not.
    • 1% of the population declares war. Remembered for a thousand years.

And even the larger peaceful protests can really change things if they have concrete and achievable political goals.

It’s not the size, it’s how you use it

  • My takeaway is to act now or hold your peace.

But this is not accurate because we are not like early 1930’s Germany. There, the fascists supplanted an actual democracy and people really protested and fought on the streets. There was a need by the fascist to brutally suppress or be out of power.

America today is not transitioning from a democracy to a fascist state; but is an oligarchy undergoing a minor political realignment of its most powerful families. There is no real protest to suppress. There is no street fighting. There is still mostly freedom of speech. There are no leaders of action to rally around.

The best most of us can do is try to help block unjust arrests and provide shelter and hiding to immigrants. Most of us will not be able to act at all
