  • There's nothing better than finding a game whose game's atmosphere perfectly fits what you're going through in life

A game that did that for me was Kona. I don't even think it is that great of a game honestly, but the mood/vibe of the game captured me and made me fall in love with it.

I still even remember the scented candle that was lit while I played that game and every time I see the game on my catalog I instantly get reminded of the scent.

  • I went back to them not too long ago and they're still a challenge for me lol

Even the remasters got some hate for their difficulty even though I don't think they changed it. Great games though and they have so much character. The animations are top notch even to this day

  • Oh wow this is top 5 for me as well. Whenever I first got my switch lite I played through the crash remasters and I loved every second of it

I also still have the PSX disks even though I don't have a PSX but that's okay haha

  • I love going back to Minecraft once or twice a year.

I have so many good memories in that game and there are friends I made while playing Minecraft Hunger Games that I still talk to today and I met them back in like 2013.

Whenever I first started playing I took the PVP route, but now I mostly play survival with friends. I truly love that game

  • I recently finished Tomb Raider 2013! I actually uploaded a review here haha

I had a lot of fun with it and I was thinking about finishing it 100% but I started playing something else instead. Maybe on my next run I will do that

  • I've been playing a lot of BattleBit recently.

I play a match or two at nigth with a friend and it's always a lot of fun. Everything from the people to the mechanics are enjoyable. At the beginning it was a bit confusing but I've gotten used to it.

  • I might start RDR2 alongside you. The controls and lack of time have kept me away from the game, but I have been itching for a game like it for such a long time.

I'll download it on my Steam Deck tonight

  • This reminds me of an old friend I had at work.

She was in HR and looking to hire a new employee and she complained to me about how all the people applying weren't from the country and they weren't capable of doing the job because they didn't know how to behave...

At the end of her small rant I guess she realized I was one of those "outsiders" and then she said "oh but you're one of the good ones!"

  • True lmao. I know someone that was working under a project manager making $15/hr and whenever they got promoted to project manager they got a whopping THIRTEEN percent raise. Which sounds nice and all but it only ended up being like $2 more per hour lol

She is actively taking job interviews now

  • In my opinion, I think their goal was to control the platform. If you think about it, the amount of information that they can gather from users is wholly controlled by Google and Apple through their OS'.

Apple and Google have continuously decreased the amount of information Meta can gather through their apps, and I think with VR they made a huge bet that would be the next platform so they jumped on the ship to make sure that this time they would be controlling the platform and not another company.

I don't think they want to make money through software, I think they want to make money through data collection. The amount of data they can gather from you just through the setup, is incredible. They can literally know your height and have cameras on at all times.

I think VR can be successful, but I don't think Meta will do it. I don't think they're be the ones getting the ball rolling at least. If anything their marketing and the bad name they gave to VR set things back. I think they're too early and have a pretty bad brand image for people to trust them. I don't think the hardware or the software support is there for things to fully take off either

Also, wouldn't their goal be to sell VR headsets? How would people buy their software without a headset? I think their goal was to sell headsets. Pretty sure they sold their budget headsets at a loss just to introduce people to the platform.

  • I agree! Especially that it didn't overstay its welcome. I'm glad it wasn't bloated with a bunch of side mission stuff, and the side content was mostly exploration.

Not the most complex game, but it was enjoyable

Edit: I forgot to add this, but the PS3/Xbox 360 era of games is my favorite in terms of AAA titles. I hold a lot of nostalgia for those titles.

  • In Tomb Raider 2013, I felt like they had the mechanics for stealth, but they didn't quite have the AI and mission structure right for it to be viable. I'm excited to be able to play more stealth in the next game.

I would have definitely liked more puzzles that were difficult. They were a highlight of the game, but not present enough
