This is going to be used corporations to take away everything from individuals who are innovating (more than they already are). Nobody will be able to build wealth off a good idea again. Which if we were in a society where wealth wasn't required to live a good life I would be okay with, but we aren't, so I'm not.

Those frozen ones do really well in the air fryer if you have one.

If you don't want to watch a video -Sear the shit out of each side for a minute or so on a cast iron, then stick the whole thing in the stove at 425 for however long it takes to reach your preferred doneness. Takes about 7-8 minutes for med-well.

It's not that it's a bad service. It's that MS tries to force you into it at every turn and makes it inconvenient to not use it. I have to click several times just to get to the file browser that lets me save files locally on my work PC. It's insanely frustrating.

How do you propose we achieve this? We'd have to isolate a group of people who've never experienced abuse and set them up somewhere the rest of us could never come in contact with them again.

What do you propose I do? I already said I'm fucking broke. I have no space of my own to do hobbies. I can't afford to travel. I go out with my friends a couple times a month and that kills my spending budget because everything is expensive now. I just had to buy a laptop and get my car worked on (again because I don't have a space of my own to do it myself) and just that wiped out six months of savings. How can I think about anything but money when if I take my eye off the ball I'll be fucked?

I'll keep that in mind. So far haven't hit any walls other than FreeCAD running like ass but I'm not sure that's Bazzite's problem or something else. Still digging into it.

My grandfather was building a deck on his house and had a bunch of lumber piled up for it. I had the genius idea that I could use it to make "roller coaster" tracks down the steep hill behind their house. Then I had my brother climb into our wagon to test it out. He was about 1/3 of the way down the hill when I realized that he was heading for the tree line with no way to stop... so I ended up sprinting after him and flipping the whole thing over.

Except the "society" we're paying into is now ripping out every safety net and benefit they can get their hands on and just giving our money to billionaires instead.

It's not wealth I'm after. It's security. I want to be able to reach a point in my life where I don't have to give 50+ hours of my time every week to some fucking company that doesn't give a shit about me just to barely scrape by on rent and groceries. I can't do that from where I'm so I have to save money wherever possible and build my career. Congrats to the guy I responded to for finding someone willing and capable of providing for him but most of us aren't going to be so fortunate.

The main problem being that they’re cheapskates and won’t lift a finger for anything not directly benefitting themselves. They don’t know how to cook, and learning anything unrelated to their jobs is seen as a “waste of time”

Maybe they're stuck trying to get ahead in their career and don't have the mental energy to focus on anything else. Most single dudes I know are focused on their careers because where they're at doesn't meet their needs or isn't enough to meet their goals even if the goal is as simple as just owning a home and be able to retire someday.
