I just got an email today that they're raising the price to 13€ here in Germany starting December. I think I'll pass and go the pirate way again. That aggressive behaviour against adblockers while also raising the prices feels like a scummy move.
Exporting a Google Doc to HTML creates the worst structure I've seen in a long time. They can't even export lists correctly.
It feels like they built this in the IE6 days and never touched it again.
My employer wanted to use it to manage privacy policies, site notices and other legal documents of our clients. Greeeeat fun when it's time to embed this stuff on a client's website.
Either it looks like shit or I spend 1-2 hours to fix the formatting manually...
Tried Gnome on Fedora, it's just a blatant copy of macOS. I really don't get the concept behind it. You can probably somehow work comfortably with multiple programs and monitors, but I couldn't figure out how.
It's just annoying that there's not a real program bar and the dock vanishes all the time so you have to go to the upper left corner to bring it back and then go to the bottom to actually use it again...and why is there no desktop? Who needs empty space with a background image and nothing else? That's even worse than macOS.
KDE isn't perfect either, setting up the menu bars for the first time was tedious, because I wanted the names and icons of the programs I have open on the current screen, ungrouped. Default is just icons, because a good-looking dock is better than a functional one, I guess...
There's no way to duplicate menu bars and use them on another monitor, I had to make them three times for three monitors. But at least I had the option and now I love it.
It's gotten really worse over the last year or so. They try to be overly "intelligent" by suggesting search phrases you didn't even input, watering down the results.
I'm a web developer and when I google for "string", I don't want to get results for "yarn" to put in a fake extreme example. Rewording my search phrases is one of the worst features they ever introduced. I know what I'm looking for and I don't need assistance with that.
Google even started ignoring operators sometimes. Back in the good old days you were able to put a word into quotations to tell the engine it must be included in the results. Now when I do this it only mostly works but when they run out of results they just go back to the default behaviour of including everything that might loosely fit the search phrase.
It feels like Google is afraid to show you no results, as if that was a crime or something.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Bing works so much better for me when I look up specific error messages etc.
I get what he's saying but I didn't post this to shit on the game (because I actually enjoyed it). This is a fun meme community and some die-hard fans are taking this waaay too seriously.
He's also saying "Starfield can't have the same amount of microdetail everywhere" because of it's scope and that is certainly true...but water looks really bad throughout the whole game. I wouldn't call that "micro" ;) Bethesda clearly didn't put enough resources into this or maybe they had problems implementing better water into the game engine.
I still enjoy the game, even with it’s shitty waterfall.
Just want to say, that I did so, too! It's not a bad game at all, but it could've been better in so many ways.
Writing, game mechanics, world building...
God forbid someone comes to a meme community for laughs. 😆
People can make jokes about games they actually like, you know. Maybe you should get out, take a breath of fresh air, calm down in the process and accept the fact that you're on Memes@lemmy.ml and this whole discussion is totally pointless.
Or just write another essay the length of Macbeth because someone posted a gray waterfall on the internet. It's totally healthy and not ridiculous at all...you could also just drop another F-bomb to prove your point, that was really great discussion culture.
You basically took a picture of a babbling Brook at noon and a waterfall at night
I didn't specifically took the screenshots at a point in time where the ingame graphics look the worst. I just went on a mission with my companion Sarah just like usual and took this screenshot in the process. Because when I looked at the scene I thought: "Goddammit, that is just the worst graphics I've seen in a long time, I have to take a picture here" :D
Oh here we go, your brain is starting to shove me into the “paid shill” camp because I disagree with you.
I paid a hundred bucks for the Premium edition of the game and as I stated in numerous comments, I actually enjoyed playing the side content, I just didn't like the main missions and the skill grind. How can I shove you into a camp that I'm a member of, myself?
I have no problem with fair criticism.
You clearly do, because you're snapping right now. I don't even know why you take this meme so seriously.
Well fuck you, bro.
That was uncalled for. I made the effort to prove my point, I even fired up the game again although I'm already finished with it and took screenshots for people that don't own the game to see what I mean. And now you're just insulting me. I think it's time for me to back out of this discussion, because I'm not the one that's making it toxic.
Ah, the good old Word 97 key...
