It was meant to be a peaceful protest. When there were violence, Trump told the protesters to leave peacefully. Trump challenged the election result through court. Most of the court cases ruled on "no standing" technicality not the merit. Anyway, since the court challenges weren't successful, the result was a peaceful transfer of power. There was nothing wrong from what Trump did.
