  • Nah, I’ve seen a shop locking their doors and letting people in one by one because they’re getting so much stuff stolen. I’ve never seen that before, and I see stuff being stolen right in front of me every other week now.

I’m willing to accept I’m seeing this happen a disproportionate number of times if the statistics don’t back it up, but it must be a local problem if it’s not effecting other parts of the country.

Also, maybe try being a little less condescending next time…

  • I dunno, I see a lot more shoplifting with my own two eyes, really seems like it’s increased over the past few years.

My local high street has loads of the little shops like Sainsury’s local, co-op, etc. 10 years I’ve been using these shops, and suddenly all of them have gotten security guards in a 6 month period.

It’s crazy to see people run in, grab all they can in their arms and then sprint out. They can get pretty violent with the staff as well.

  • Fair enough about RDR2 being in the right category, even though that’s still wrong 😆

I’m less willing to let TLOU and SIFU slide though, it’s “technically” correct but in reality it’s just stupid for these games to be in 2023 awards.

Remakes in particular boil my piss. They’re lazy, “play it safe” games instead of companies taking risks making new games, so I don’t think they should be eligible for awards imo.

  • It’s the one main genre I just don’t get. There are a few bands I like, but that’s usually because they bridge a gap between metal and hard rock.

I think it’s the vocals that usually put me off.

  • Saying that most Brexit voters thought anything about an EEA arrangement is giving them too much credit imo.

Their thought process was as shallow as “we should be independent, get the foreigners out, save EU membership fees, then everything will be good”, with no thought about the reality of the situation and how it will be achieved.

A lot of them wanted hard Brexit just because negotiating a deal was taking too long, because in their minds it’s as simple as just leaving.

  • It’s become undeniable.

My mother was all in on Brexit, she started out fiercely declaring it’s what the country needed.

Then she said it’s going to benefit the country soon, then said it needs some time.

Then she said that everything going wrong was unrelated to Brexit. Then said its not that bad, and the eventual positives will balance out.

That’s the opinion shifting over the years. She now admits it was a mistake, “but how could we have known?!?”…
