  • I know what you mean about AW1, the sequel is different mechanically and much more refined.

You still make use of the flashlight, but now it’s a bit more developed and for the most part it feels like a modern horror game.

You get a lot of tense situations where people are running at you and you have to hold them off with the flashlight and weapons.

I can’t really put the differences in to words, but it is just much better imo.

  • I started with Alan Wake 2, then went back to Control.

Both really great, unique games, and Remedy are now up there with FromSoftware for my most anticipated games.

Control was absolutely great, but they really hit another level with AW2 imo.

  • Relatable

    Jump
  • Off topic, but anything ever happen with that LTT drama?

I used to follow them early on, but seems like a toxic, corporate shit show these days.

Kinda sad watching their videos now, the magic’s just gone imo and seems like they’ve tried to template what it was like.

I guess that’s what people want though, their fan base are basically tech-swifties.

  • It was doomed from the start, and yet they went on anyway.

tbh I think they’d put a bad case forward even if they were given a favorable interview, considering they gave Fox more ammunition than they could ever ask for.

The misgendering and harassment is wrong, but I honestly think it’s right for the anti work community to call out how awful that interview was and distance themselves from it as much as possible. imo it did actively harm the public perception of the movement.

  • That was a colossal fuck up of an interview though, made the entire anti work community look like a load of stupid freeloaders.

Absolutely no excuse for the misgendering or any harassment, but I still wouldn’t undersell how bad that interview was.

  • Okay, you’re obviously just looking for an argument at this point.

I’m not your enemy, I just ask that you reflect on what I’ve said. You don’t have to, but being open minded and showing compassion are supposedly the cornerstone of the left.

  • Thanks for proving my point, what have I said that’s bad?

I want to be treated fairly and based on how I act, and yet I don’t get that.

You’ve tried to tell me that I do act like that, despite the fact you have absolutely nothing to back that up… The exact problem.

  • Again, just disregarding how men feel, where does that get us?

I absolutely do not act in the way that men are accused of, but blanket statements about “MeN BaD” are so frequent and widely accepted, and it’s just ignored or even praised.

  • So you don’t think there are any issues with how men are treated on the left?

As progressive as the left can be, men have been left behind and are still often expected to ‘just be a man’, while dealing with double standards and sometimes being treated like they’re inherently bad.

Edit: Copying what vzq has said to me for visibility, as this is the exact problem. Do I sound like the angry toddler in this discussion?

“I want to be treated fairly and based on how I act, and yet I don’t get that.” You are being treated based on how act. You act like a spoiled toddler that thinks he’s owed some consideration by strangers.

  • I like how those people didn’t appreciate you taking away their circlejerk opportunity, so just downvoted you instead 😂

I swear half of Lemmy is just people talking about how they don’t use Twitter or Reddit.

  • Sometimes that’s okay.

As long as it’s not overly one sided and they do engage when you message them, don’t overthink it.

If it’s really that one sided then it should just naturally fizzle out without much thought. Either way, it’s not worth worrying about.

  • Exactly. The reason I cancel my subscriptions is because there’s been a nosedive in content that I enjoy, which has tipped the scales to it costing more than it’s worth to me.

I’ve moved to a Plex setup, but even then I don’t watch many shows at all. The ones I do watch are all on different platforms though, so it would be X many subscriptions just to watch the few shows I like.

  • The word cringe is thrown about too much, but unironically posting anything with a picture of Joker is the definition of cringe.

Edit: I am surprised how controversial this is, but I stand by it 🫡
