I've literally got no idea what you're talking about or what your point is. Are you saying this person hasn't committed a crime? Because that's incorrect. Lots of jurisdictions have laws preventing things like CSAM generated imagery, deepfake porn and a whole raft of other things. 'Harm' doesn't begin and end with something done to an individual for a lot of crimes.

"less bad" is relative. A bad thing is still bad. If we go by length of sentencing then rape is 'less bad' than murder. that doesn't make it 'not bad'.

Intent is defined as intention or purpose. So I'll rephrase for you: the purpose of playing a FPS is to play a game. The purpose of playing GTA is to play a game.

This guy did do something - he either created or accessed AI generated CSAM.

There may well be the odd weirdo playing Call of Duty to watch people die.

But everyone who watches CSAM is watching it to watch kids being abused.

The difference is intent. When you're playing a FPS, the intent is to play a game. When you play GTA the intent is to play a game.

West Kennet Long Barrow is a Neolithic barrow over 5,500 years old. It's part of the numerous neolithic structures in Wiltshire, UK (which includes the frankly far less impressive but more famous Stonehenge).

Going inside it is a very odd feeling. You can see and touch ancient work marks put there by people who are so remote to us we know very little about them. I've visited numerous ancient world heritage sites and its unique (to me) in how close you feel to those people.

The Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian - yes, I know there's been a movie (Master & Commander with Russel Crowe and Paul Bettany) but the series is much richer and deeper than any single movie could be.

Also, Robin Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings series. Concentrate on the Fitz storyline, maybe give the Liveship series a miss.

This is great news :) but without wanting to be spammy the org I am a member of !globalorderofsatan@lemmy.blahaj.zone have been running a very similar campaign but for non-mainstream music e.g. metal/punk/indie/alt/industrial/goth that we call "Satan Not Hatin'"

It currently has over 140 opt-in participants of bands, individual artists, venues, festivals, record labels and other orgs from all over the world, including the UK and has been so successful that a well known (within metal circles) documentarian and music video director is currently making a Documentary about the campaign. You can visit the campaign website where we list all the participants and provide more detail - there's also a link to a YouTube playlist of all the participating bands which also works fine in Invidious!

I have contacted the Graun about Satan Not Hatin' but mainstream news has little love for alternative music so we'll carry on with our DIY approach!

I definitely say read it and me saying its not as good as 1 or 2 is just my opinion :)

Its OK and worth reading just for the sake of completion but its not as good as 2 and nowhere near as good as the first one.
