  • I think you're interpreting my frustration with having to deal with an insulin pump hose, as frustration with the person suggesting using wired headphones. Imagine headphone wires you can't take off. On you 24/7 except for showering, and they get caught on every. Freaking. Thing. Frustrating. I'm not also going to deal with wired headphones on top of that annoyance.

  • Everyone around me is still hopefully optimistic and I'm over here in the corner ignoring everything pretty hard, because the second I open my mouth I start spouting what's about to happen, and I piss off everyone around me by being too negative and depressing. Haven't really had the courage to think of how to react to our new dictatorship reality with kill lists and camps for liberals that's coming in November... Guess I'll go back to Netflix and ignore it further, since that's all I can realistically do, after voting.

  • Very true, I just kept saying WiFi router, because for most people's home networks, even if their device is wired, if they have a wifi router set up, their WiFi router is usually their network firewall as well. So even if your gaming desktop was wired, you'd probably still need to open ports on your WiFi router to make something like a VPN work.

  • Maybe I'm wrong, as I only tried to get it up and running once back around 2000's, but it seemed like IIS had like, no configuration options? Like you set it up, and that's it. What if I want to do something other than what Microsoft intended? Always struck me as odd for a web server.

But, exactly as you're saying, lol I tried it once, it sucked and I went to apache instead

  • Except.. Capitalism. The more productivity, the more profits for companies and more work load and work hours for the employees. Tech does not buy you more free time in a capitalistic society, at least, not in the way we're currently utilizing capitalism.
