  • Why do they have the "right" to lock people into an ongoing subscription though? Subscriptions should absolutely be easy to cancel, even if there's a termination penalty, it should not be on the consumer to jump through hoops and waste their time to get out of it.

  • I don't think they can make you do the receipt check at the door if they aren't a membership club... I could be mistaken on that, but I've never submitted to that outside of Sam's and Costco since that's part of the agreement for membership

  • Did they go to shit or were they always shit? They've never been able to code software worth a damned and I don't know if there's any combination of model + IOS version that's fully compatible with any other, they changed the syntax of commands pretty much every chance they got back in '05 and everything I've seen suggests they've not changed at all in that

  • If by "collective" you mean "minority lead by the rich and corporations", then sure

Technically, the collective could change it, if a super massive majority agreed and actually did something about it, but that's not gonna happen, sadly

  • The companies were even praising the benefits of WFH earlier in the pandemic, boasting about record productivity, and those same people and companies are now saying they need to bring people back without acknowledging their prior statements. It's perfectly bizarre.

They want closer collaboration, there are ways to do that remotely, and do it well. I think MMOs have proven that people can collaborate effectively for long periods with people they've never met, don't know what they look like, what their voice sounds like, or even their name.
