  • A part was something in the vein of "voting doesn't work, bring back the guillotines". I think they're called "accelerationists" due to the belief that the current state of affairs can't be fixed and only by violent revolution can society be rebuilt (in their imagine).

So, some people wanted Trump to win in order to have everything fail and justify blowing shit up.

  • The bar is a narrow surface, which means stepping on it would be to pursue balance at the risk of failure. The longer one stands on it, the greater the exhaustion and the higher the chance of falling down. Though one will fall down eventually, it's still an exercise that trains and strengthens mind and body.

Pretentiousness is a part of communication. Because people pretend all the time, whether it's with others or themselves. It's a facet we all share in some way. Why deny it? I am who I am and you are who you are. Yet you expect me to change because it doesn't conform your expectations or something? Well, tough.

  • If you think about it, AI training on shit can be a useful way to get an early warning on some very serious illnesses. If done right.

Take a dump, use phone to take pictures. AI analyzes for recognizable markers and lets the user know if they should visit a doctor for consultation.

    Shitposting for health!

  • That's completely fine. No need for anyone to understand every comment made.

If you're curious, i will attempt to explain. If you're not, stop reading here. I have yet to fully forget where I was going with this. Tomorrow would have been different.

Let's take it from the end "biggest asshole in the room 24x7".

So the planet is akin to one bit room we all have to share. It has limited resources and so not everyone can be accommodated. Conflict of interest happen all the time where two or more groups need a consumable resource that has an insufficient quantity to satisfy everyone's needs. At that point, a choice will be made on who gets to consume those resources and regardless of fairness, those that are left out will feel resentful. Those that have to make that choice or gain those resources will be assholes to the victims that are left out. Can't prevent that.

So there will always be an "asshole in the room". And as long as there is at least one, then having a "biggest asshole in the room" is also unavoidable.

We'll keep the "24/7" for later. Now we move to the front of the comment, "treat maga with compassion".

Regardless of maga or another group, there's a conflict of interest at every level of society. You can't escape it as long as two different entities compete for the same thing. As emotional creatures, resentment will without a doubt influence us in thought and action. Anyone saying otherwise is blind to their own emotional state.

So the "biggest asshole in the room 24x7" draws away attention from all the other "assholes in the room". But all the other assholes aren't just the big ones, it's everyone that has to choose who gets something and who gets nothing. Every manager at every level in every aspect of society is an asshole to those who aren't given what they need even though they're just handling the limited resources made available to them.

There will always be a "biggest asshole in the room", no matter how small an asshole they may be, if at all, because as long as someone is in the room, they're the "biggest asshole" by default.

That's why maga should be treated with compassion. They unwittingly sacrifice themselves or are intentionally sacrificed and attract the greatest ire, allowing all others to escape the same level of reprisal, earned or not.

Yes, they're dumb, they're being used, leopards ate their face. But that's life. They don't have an exclusive monopoly on this. It happens with or without them. So why not have some compassion and pity? They don't seem to have any for others. Yet why do some seem desperate to emulate that sort of behaviour? I thought that's what people hated about them in the first place?

Unless I misunderstood the comment and this was actually about replacing them... In which case, I apologize.

  • In this limited resources kind of world we live in, tough choices have to be made from time to time. And those that are obligated to make those kind of choices bear the burden of that which has to be sacrificed. Due to this, they will be assholes to the victims that unavoidably suffer.

However, if groups like maga are even bigger assholes for no real reason, those who bear the burden won't be as ostracized. It is for this reason that we should be compassionate.

At the end of the day, someone has to be the biggest asshole in the room and they unwittingly offer themselves for the role...

  • Hmm... Tough one. I for one feel too socially incompetent to not mess this up in some way, but it's ok for me with people who are used to it.

I'd say to try and celebrate her mother's life by talking about things she liked. It's supposed to be therapeutic, but some might consider it an invasion of privacy if not close enough.

Otherwise just giving them space and time to adapt ought to be appropriate.

Dunno how friendly you are or wanna be. No real answer because it depends on the person and the relationship. Some things work for some and backfire with others.

  • You mean like a temporary hallucinations add-on attached to your individual program? Even so, its activation, modification or erasure would leave a log behind to mark it did happen in some form.

What we call reality is mere interpretation of evidence anyway, so while debating whether something really happened depends on our ability to find said evidence, it's not enough to conclusively declare it didn't actually happen in some way beyond our comprehension.

  • It's sad how these so-called journalists act as if this is the first discovery of the topic. Like yo, it's been talked all over last year with pretty much every car company spying on your shit and insurance companies already using that info to raise their prices.

I mean how far deep your own arses were your heads lodged to not notice this up until now?

Ffs, this sort of incompetence is astounding from an industry that's supposed to be the source of news.

This is slowpoke level meme material.

  • Sadly, for me in particular, I sort of remember and I'm probably right, but I'm ready to run away just in case it's otherwise. My politeness comes from allowing others to correct me, which I do. Sometimes. Be honoured.
