    1. As with all things, some pranks are better than others.
    2. Your lifelong trauma from a prank gone wrong is delectable.
    3. Psychologically, these types of holidays are recommended because they break the monotonous delirium of daily droning. They force the brain to think and not just accept everything as it comes.
    4. Your nan's hardcore. She may decide to haunt her place after passing, so keep some salt with you when you visit.
  • You're right, both sides aren't the same. One side has devolved into foregoing what we like to think of as humanity because they have a boner for hate and the other makes excuses on why degrading themselves to the same level isn't the same.

It's a play on words. I'll skip the nuances and get right down to the core, "they started murdering people, so I'm murdering them back". But here's the thing, killing is still killing, even in self-defense. No matter how many justifications, running away from this concept only serves to bring you ever closer to the mentality of the other side.

The very simplified "both sides" is alluding to the idea that both are very much willing to give up empathy, ethics and law if it means getting rid of the opposite side. The selective application of these three concepts is what bridges you together in a way that makes an outside observer say "so similar, they might as well be the same" a.k.a. "both sides".

No exception to empathy, no exception to ethics, no exception to law, no matter how saintly and no matter how evil.

  • Played Sniper Elite V2. At first i thought it was the first Sniper Elite remade, but it's actually about the V2 missile program. Weird, I know. My best achievement in the game that for some silly reason isn't an achievement has to be randomly hitting an NPC in both testicles. Beats 3 heads in a row by a longshot.

Wonder if one can hit 6 nuts in a row or might it be too much to ask for? ...

Anyway, in Old World, Assyria declared war on me because I was weak and then spent dozens of years doing nothing, which allowed me to build up an army. They had slingers and warriors, I had spearmen. Turns out when your units pierce into the second row, spit roasting your enemies can be an effective strategy, if you manage to position them properly. First time conquering an enemy in this game.

But I'll probably quit soon because just as in the Civilization games, I fail at being the conquering type. Sorry Assyria, the game made me do it.

Looking to go through my library, my next try will probably be Airborne Kingdom. While I lack the imaginative creativity I've seen others achieve, i believe my floating bucket of bolts will nonetheless stick to the skies as i peacefully wander about that weird little world.

  • A going theory is that you're overstimulated and your body is starved of rest. You'd need to chill with the social media and electronics, go through withdrawal and then relax for a month or two on an isolated retreat in order to "reset" yourself.

  • Got into Old World. I have zero planning and just roll with it, which led me to start a war against Egypt with my 4 elephants and several axemen thinking i was hot stuff. Egypt had 3 onangers nested on hills, a dozen pikemen and a random ballista.

I was annihilated from the militaristic point of view.

Still won the match through ambitions though since they happened to be a match with what I still had going for me.

I was annoyed though. They were doing 8-10hp damage per hit at times and i was only doing 3. My small army went from hot to not in only a few turns and i couldn't figure out why. Turns out i just suck at it.

Anyway, if you've played Civilization, you'll easily see the influence. The card and character randomness can be fun or frustrating and you might find yourself wondering at times why your resources aren't growing as high as you were expecting them to. Better watch for that discontent!

I only have the base game so no comment on the DLCs.
