  • Are the elders invading again?

  • The Dragon Ball franchise was mostly a snorefest. Endless fillers. Extremely slow plot progress. Nostalgia is one hell of a drug isn't it. Even DBZ, which was cherry picked here. And that extends to pretty much everything on that list. As much as I like some of them, I would never be able to sit down and give them my full attention for all their episodes. FMA mayyybe being the exception here.

  • I wish I understood it well enough to give a simple explanation.

A good place to start is to understand deep learning.

Edit: I just noticed it's an article. Could do with some tags lol

  • Is some software getting worse?

    Fixed for ya.

  • Though AI regulation should be easier to enforce than sponsorship and such when it comes to news articles.

If we just require companies to always mark their work as being AI work then we can quite easily just have a search engine that toggles AI results.

But government is usually 5 years behind tech at least and in the meantime companies like Google will just choose the path of optimal profit.

  • There is no global government. The world is highly fragmented. Most countries themselves are highly fragmented. Even some countries that would have you believe otherwise.

Also, we are too used to the concept of superpowers being countries. That's no longer the case. While countries can still be superpowers, so can corporations. We already have corporations that could fund some of the world's biggest armed forces, but so far they have had no reason to. This isn't a new concept either, think back to the way the British Empire colonised/invaded India for example.

  • This brings us back to the regulatory issues. If we over regulate western AI, AI from countries like China will gain an edge. And China gives 0 fucks about our laws.

That's not to say I'm against regulation. I think letting them loose could lead to disaster. Coming up with a solution for this is something I think our governments are incapable of and I'm glad it's not my job.

  • Just highlighting the difference between the government that protects its people and a government that throws a political circus. And at the same time, I showed where they could get the funding to do so, since lack of funding is made the excuse too often.

The political system is highly intertwined and it's often just a matter of looking for the strings you'd like to connect. Sure I'm trying to paint a picture here since I don't believe these people and others deserve to be targets of such pointless crime.

  • You probably dodged a bullet there. This sounds a lot like someone who is already in a relationship or at the very least has a similarly strong reason to move on. Did they invite you over or was it always about them coming over?

Only time really works for me. This will be extra tough on you because the first month of a relationship is peak honeymoon phase. We rarely see any negatives. The other person is essentially perfect in our eyes during that period. And that's the memory and expectations you're left with. In truth though, you have at best only met the tip of the iceberg. You're not craving a person but rather the ideal your mind has built for them.

  • I'll believe they believe it when they offer themselves up to become slaves.

  • People have been eating shit from sources like the Sun UK tabloid for decades. I don't think tiktok is stellar and I think governments should enforce local governance on the platform (i.e. local servers and executives). But is it a new terrifying thing?

  • Security services have been warning us of inhouse terrorism for years. This is what we are seeing now.

The US for one could just stop their war on drugs, which has been ravaging the world for decades, and only has like 1% efficacy, and use that money in programs to prevent this. But unfortunately we no longer live in times where reason rules.

Zero-sum ideologies have taken over. We live in societies where other people's gain are seen as our loss. And then what we get are huge society splits which will eventually and inevitably be the end of that society as it was.

  • Well, your first mistake is to try and see logic behind that party's actions. What we see from them is just a constant power shift. No one is being put in charge for their ability to lead.

  • How can you fix anything when you're too busy attacking the LGBT+ community, breaking international immigrant / refugee laws, stealing privacy and civil liberty from your citizens?

They haven't been doing nothing. They have been degrading democracy.

  • How much defense does Russia even have at this point? They seem to be banking on their nukes to defend them.

  • Work is a great way to get a prolonged holiday in another country with little to no financial impact depending on how you go about it.

I think even without the multiple crises we are having the program would still be successful.

  • I quite liked Wales' approach of taxing second homes significantly more.

A large part of Wales' housing issue comes from English retirees buying up holiday homes. To the point people were accusing the government of discriminating against English people for the tax against properties that aren't main residences.

  • When you have that much money, does it matter?

Trump and Musk are great examples of being too rich to fall. Once you get to that point, you can fuck the poor as much as you want. The only way for you to fall is to fuck with other powerful people a la that pedo ring leader who was murdered by guards after getting caught.
