  • Probably like $120/month. You can certainly get lower, if you want like 15Mbps.

The infrastructure cost is prohibitively expensive though. Current ISPs have rigged it so the barrier for entry is massive. And making something actually widespread will force you to get permits from local government, which the ISPs lobby.

  • That's fair, you're right. I was pulling my comment from memory of him fighting against de-regulation of corporations, which I consider to be an anti-capitalist stance. But I shouldn't have conflated the two.

  • Saying that Bernie is garbage because he didn't dismantle the two party system seems a bit extreme. He actually has joined third parties but they didn't take off. He's also definitely anti-capitalist.

  • I read (listened) to it for the first time last year. The audiobooks I had sounded like they were ripped from cassette, it was AWFUL.

I ended up getting the ebooks and read the first trilogy after stopping halfway through the first audiobook.

My wife loved them when they were new and had been asking me to read them for awhile, but I was kinda disappointed in them. Really interesting magic system, I just felt like the writing was too simplistic.

Also, your uncle inhabiting your body to have sex with someone was a pretty wild thing to read.

  • Don't mean to clutter the thread but it sounds like option 3 is the best user experience. Hyper privacy focused users are probably more likely to make their own instance or use another smaller one.

Love the work you do, I appreciate it so much!
