  • Same for me. I was using foobar2000 back on windows. When I switched to linux I found out I set up my foobar basically the same as vanilla Clementine was set. So I was sold instantly. Later switched to Strawberry, because I felt Clementine is too long dead and it also started to glitch icons on newer qt for me. Strawberry is great.

  • Well, it is net waste for the company at some point. AMD is supreme at CPU now, their lineup is awesome for years. But look at last few graphic card generations. When was the last time AMD really competed in enthusiast market? It's been falling short for quite some time so now they admitted it, cut r&d cost and just skipped high end while focusing on most selling segment. And from the reviews it looks like it paid of as 9070 looks like a hell of an upgrade!

Don't get me wrong. Nv having no opponent is not a win, because they can and will charge even more for their top of the range. But I'm just saying this was a good decision for AMD.

  • I wonder when Trump returns Alaska to Russia. Could be next week, judging by his current pace.

  • Well, I'm on the other side and am happy AMD don't waste resources on high end cards. Vast majority of people use low to mid range cards anyway, so why waste millions to just compete with nvidia, while most enthusiast people will buy nv anyway (because dlss, rtx, whatever hurr durr)? It's just waste of money for negligible returns. I don't even know one single person in my social circle that would have 4k/120Hz display anyway. Most (basically everyone) has either 1080p/144 or 4k/60 and that's mid range happy rodeo. I do have 1440p/144 and I feel like weirdo among my friends (why you need this?).

  • It just stopped receiving updates, even security ones.

  • Well, how's it supported? This is usually what kills these phones. Even brand like Xiaomi dump their non-flagship model really soon. I have one, bought as a new model, was officially supported for like a year. Great.

  • 86? That's like the double of our entire company management combined! You'll do good.

  • I'm no expert, but I'll give you my two cents. I play bass guitar and there are two types of connectors between amplifier and speaker cabinet. First one is plain barrel jack, second one is Neutrik. I've been talking with local amp maker and he said something like this: "jack is fine with low wattage, but with more power you'd do better with neutrik - it has much larger contact area " So I believe this is similar problem. We were speaking like 400-600W of power where jack starts to be worse. How about vacuum cleaner or kettle? Or similar appliance that can do 2kW... Small contact and higher drain means more heat generated in that spot.

  • Planescape is awesome. The only game that came close to its story (and one I've played) is Disco Elysium, which is quite a feat. Given how DE is praised everywhere.

  • Nobody recommended Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines yet. You should definitely try this one. It's a bit like old Deus Ex in gameplay, has excellent atmosphere and soundtrack. One of my top recommendations.

  • It never really crossed my mind there's even a possibility to not having something to read. Thinking about it a bit more, I see few reasons for my immediate thought.

First I'm quite slow reader myself. I read rougly 10 books a year so I don't burn through as many books as some other more avid readers.

Second I read mostly SF/F and there's just so many good books and series for people interested in this genre. And while not everything is perfect, I'm probably much more tolerant to some imperfections as a genre fan.

Third, I read in my (non english) native tongue and while we're definitely limited in quantity, it's usually a bit of a filter so most of bad and trash books are excluded. Who would pay to translate and print shitty book anyway?

We have two good local sites that helps. One is basically like "local goodreads", the other is strictly SF/F fansite. Both have user ratings and reviews which help a lot. Also my best friend has similar taste in books, so we often recommend our findings to each other.

  • I love that show, saw it plenty of times from start to finish...

"It's the last thing they'll be expecting - a daylight charge over the minefield."

  • Red Dwarf

    Monty Pythons Flying Circus

    IT Crowd

    Mr. Robot

  • Since this came to effect, there's nothing forbidding these authors to push update which has no new content except for maybe main menu "we're still alive" sign...

  • Well, Tim Sweeny can suck his own wiener then. I have hundred(s) of games on Epic and I haven't spent a dime there. And still won't spend, because I have principles.
