  • I'm a simple man, I see Monty Python reference I upvote.

    Same goes for boobs.

  • Makes sense, except for "one model". I think it would be better to have two options.

One low cost, thinking mini pc with integrated gpu (like steamdeck) for casual gamers, 2d gaming, old game(r)s, etc. Would also be perfect as "home office" PC or media consumption device.

Second one would be bigger and stronger with dedicated GPU capable of "real" gaming and running all the modern games. Yes, powerful hardware is expensive, but serious gaming is no cheap thing...

  • I assume this is that famous american thing where you're punished for paying cash, avoiding leasing and subscriptions?

  • Snapper is life saver. I don't get it why nobody else use it by default, it's so great. It saved me many times. My coworker, who happens to be kind of non-linux user forced there by MS bullshit, uses Ubuntu and she's got to problems so many times, and all those would be couple clicks repair with Snapper...

  • I'm running it for over 3 years as complete linux moron with no issues whatsoever. It was default in openSUSE and its automatic snapshot feature saved my ass multiple times. I've heard everyone saying ext4 is super stable and I should use it, but I went with default and can't complain.

  • While this is true IMO, it's needed to say that the redesigned Discord mobile app is complete shitshow.

  • Ah, yes, strike, the national sport of France.

  • Yep, that is the true mindfuck. Also the reason I rate these movies pretty high.

  • Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic movie. It's just... it kind of fucked my mind when I saw it.

Same applies for Come and See. It's amazingly done, but it's brutal. Which is no surprise given the theme, but the difference is it's so naturalistic and shows all the wartime horrors. Most films tend to avoid these and show only the heroic parts of war.

Speaking of which I'd sneak in Apocalypse Now and Casualties of War.

  • Came here to write this.

Another one would be Jacob's ladder, but compared to Come and See it's fairytale.

  • The point is PCs are much more affordable now. Not sure if it was just my country specific, but getting higher end PC in 90s was like one year of saving whole salary level expensive, while today it's like one or two months.

  • You have to take a look on the size of the "gaming market" at release dates of those games. At mid 90s gaming was barely a thing, since PCs were still unbelievably expensive. Ten years later it was very different. Plus consoles on top of it...

  • This is so sad fate. Morrowind was absolute gem of that era, nothing compared to it at the time. It has wonderful world it takes place in which is believable and filled with interesting characters, supported by truly brilliant soundtrack. And while story is quite decent there's about gazillion other things to do, explore, see.

It's sad that every upcoming bethesda game was more and more simplified and lost a bit of the morrowind magic.

  • Yep, it's a lot, but it should be right. Hope I did not misread the numbers. It runs quite write-heavy warehouse and cash register store database, running 24/7. I don't have the drive by me now, but I'll try to remember and post pic on Monday when I'm back to work.

  • Yeah, I get that. But since it's (basically) XMPP, can't it be used with such as Converse.js?

  • I wonder how does this differ from plain XMPP? There are tons of XMPP clients for every imaginable device, includong browser ones.

  • I'm sorry for worthless comment in advance. I've never heard of FreeIPA, but I'd definitely get free IPA ;-)
